Do You happen to have the part number to this electrical plug ? I have a 2004 mitsubishi and have encountered the same problem. I too hate the splicing wires.

I have a 2004 Endeavor XLS and for the life of me I cannotkeep the glove box door from squeeking. Open the glove box door and it quits, big deal. I have tried stick on pads in inconspicuous places, but no help. Anybody had this problem?

I don't have an Endeavor but I have had similar problems on other vehicles. The sticky pads was a good first move though. With the glove box open, there might be some screws visible on the latch/locking mechanism that resides in the glove box door. Try adjusting those. Also, try applying a little bit of lubricant to the plastic hinges. One last thing, is the glove box still noisy when you've completely removed all of its contents?

Thanks. I tried all of the mentioned in your letter. Finally I got the glovebox out altogether. There is no adjustment on the "Catch", therefore I just bent it slightly and so far, it seems to cure the problem. It just stuck out a bit too far. Again, thanks for your response.

You should check out the thread of "Grille Inserts" in Honda Odyssey site here. There are many D-I-Y options, cost from $4 to $200's ... I protected my Bumper opening by $4 Home Depot gutter screen + plastic cable ties. The Honda condensor replacement costs $750.00.

A guy posted photos re how to do it there, take off the front then assemble them back. I spent about 45 mins to complete the job

Hey sorry for the delay in my response. Cool. Glad that you fixed it. I never thought about removing the glovebox entirely for a better look at it. Thanks for the tip.

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is a new thread, but you said you removed the glove box, so I'll ask you first. I'm trying to get the glove box out to replace the cabin filter. I removed the four screws in the diagram of the glove box, but the picture shows 'hook crochets' (three on rt, two on left) which are what must be holding the plastic in place, because I can't budge it. How did you remove the glove box?

I have a 2004 Endeavor and am trying to replace the cabin air filter. The schematic I got shows dropping the glove box door to remove the four screws, which I've been able to do. But that's where I'm stuck. The diagram also shows 'hook crochets' which must be what's holding the plastice in place (2 on left, 3 on rt), but I can't figure out how to release them. I don't want to damage anything. Anyone done this and can tell me how to proceed?

As you already did, you unhook the tension cord, take out the (4) screws, 2 on top, two on bottom. Now you have to get serious with it.. Put Your fingers under the liner at bottom right and pull (just the bottom right, don't try to pull the whole unit strait out. It wont break, it will eventually flex and the hook crochets will disengage. From there you can work the left side out from under where the vent comes out. ( I just came in from doing it again to see if I remembered it right) Good Luck) In this forum You can get this filter from Mitsubishi Parts for $23.00, every other place I looked, they want twice as much.

Hi,
Thank you so much. Last night my husband and I were trying to do it, but got to that step and were at a loss for what to do. So, he put it back together and said he was just going to take it in and try to return the filter. (I think he said he paid $30. What do you mean "in this forum you can get...." We could order parts here? But there'd be shipping, right? So, $30 is probably okay. Or, I could get it here and return the other, if there's no shipping and save another $7.)
Last night, I said I'd see what I could find on the internet. I found and signed up for this forum (my first), but wasn't very hopeful after hours of working at it.
Then I got your answer!!! I tried what you said and got it apart. There hadn't been a filter in it, so I had to cut out the cut out....a bit scary, chopping into the car, but I wanted to surprise him. All I could hear in the back of my head as I was doing it (thinking that I might be doing something wrong) was, "I told you we should've taken it in!" But, it's in now and back together, thanks to you. And I'm feeling very courageous and accomplished (It takes so little, LOL). Let me know about the ordering parts "in the forum", so we can get the next one through here, when it's needed.
Of course, if I have a question in the future, it will be much easier as I am now a member of this great group!
And THANKS again!
Carly
