If you can save $3000 or so, then it might pay off.. But, who knows what kind of service you'd get from the Hawaii dealer after that? I think trying to get the best deal you can from them would be the way to go.. Let them know you are considering other makes.. They might not have any BMW competition, but they've got competition from other makes.. Also.. the most important question... How do I get to move to Hawaii? regards, kyfdx |

I just contacted my dealer and asked about the option credit after depositing $500 last month on my ordered X5 3.0. They just called back and gave me the full $2500. I pick it up the weekend.

or do you think they will take $47,600? 36 months lease 2008 3.0 X5 Alpine White Tobacco leather Premium Package Technology Package I-Pod Adaptor MSRP: $52,875.00 Negotiated price $49,995.00 $5,000.00 Total down 12,000 miles per year MF= 00275 RV=55% $717.91 + tax I live in CA. I have run the numbers on the Edmunds lease calculator and came out with a lower payment. Any advice on why? |

Is the sport package worth the price? I'm going to get an X5 with premium and tech, but I'm undecided on the sport package. How much different is the handling? Thanks!

Replying to: coryhoehn10 (Jun 20, 2008 7:12 am) The other thing to consider is that the sport package can include the 20-way comfort seats instead of the sport seats at no additional cost. The comfort seats are absolutely worthwhile (IMO), although they can be ordered as a stand alone item without the sport package. Keep in mind that this is a heavy vehicle. The sport package controls that weight better in spirited driving. If you like "spirited driving" or like to have a little fun occassionally in curves and around corners, the sport package might be a good fit. And if you combine the comfort seats with the sport package, it's not a bad value. But if you just want to cruise down the highway in a straight line and enjoy a comfortable ride, then it might not be worth $3,700. I have always ordered the sport package with my BMWs and I could never go back to the base suspension. The additional bounce / lean and reduction in control around corners drives me nuts. The base model is still a BMW and handling is very competent, but why buy a BMW if you're not going to maximize BMW's trademark handling? Overall, BMW did a good job with the sport package in the X5 in the sense that it yields better control without much trade off in ride quality. |

Hi, I just got a quote from a dealer telling me an X5 for a MSRP of $55925 for $48320! savings of 7605 dollars. Does that sound too good to be true? Thanks

I am a first timer buyer in the US (european relocator) Im considering buying a new X5. Are the any reason for me to close the deal before end of june. Im thinking of incentives, etc. I have read about an "option credit" on this site - is it still valid ? I am buying in cash - Does that give me any specific advantages beside I am able to do a quick deal, if the right offer appears. Im thinking of stuff like cash discount, etc. I am also considering the X6. The prices for X5 4,8i and X6 3,5i are very close, and I love both cars. I am staying in the US for 2-3 years time, so I have think about selling the car again. Which one of the two will hold the best and will be the easiest to sell ?
