I'm about to buy a new 2009 X5 4.8. MSRP $74,925 and the dealer is offering it to me at $70,305, a discount of MSRP of $4,620. He said this is $800 above invoice. I'm in the sf bay area, california.

Replying to: pt838 (Mar 28, 2009 12:53 pm) Premium package, Technology package, Rear Climate control package, cold weather package, 3rd row seats, running boards, USB / ipod adaptor - MSRP: $58,675 I paid $53160 for the car. So i got $5515 off the msrp. Thats the best deal I could get. We actually ended up getting two. One for my wife and my uncle picked up one in vermillion red (its not on the website but you can now get the x5 3.0 in vermillion red). Hope this helps. |

Reliability problems? What car do you drive now? I am currently looking for a new car, I'd like the x6, but the issues I've read are horrible, thinking about the RX but not to fond on the looks of it.

Replying to: jayvis (Apr 01, 2009 3:17 pm) Looking through my wife's X3 maintenance records. We took delivery of the X3 in July of 2007. It went back to the dealer in September for a check engine light. Turned out to be a faulty carbon filter. The truck was in the shop for a day and my wife got a loaner and was no way inconvenienced. The X3 did not return to the dealer until June of '08 for its first service. With over 15,000 miles on the odometer. Again, the truck was in and out of the shop in a day and my wofe was provided with a loaner car and not inconvenienced. If that's unreliable to you, then I don't know what to tell you. Personally I would never own a Toyota or Lexus. I can't stand the floaty and completely isolated ride. Feels like you are driving your couch.
