No one knows just how much it actually costs to produce a Prius. But the fact that they are making more and more hybrids indicates they are making some money.

The "current generation" Prius they refer to is the first generation car: While the rest of the automotive world is struggling to make a business case for hybrids, Toyota Motor Company is making money.
