I ordered one from USA's largest dealer last week. I had to put a $500 refundable deposit. They said I was 94th in line and could expect my order to arrive in 2-3 months. There are also other dealers in So. California that I put my name in without the deposit. I got a call from 2 dealership the other day and said they could get one that day if I don't mind the getting a different interior color trim. They must be refering to just one car they found somewhere. I was just too stubborn to reject it and stick with my original order. Another round of deliveries is expected in SoCal dealerships next week. Hopefully one dealership can get the exact color, package and trim I ordered and give me a call. The first one who gets one and gives me a call gets my business. |

All of the documentation I can find for the tax deduction don't list the 2004 Prius, only the 2000 - 2003. I think we're all expecting the tax deduction to be extended, but does anyone have anything that actually states the deduction is available for the 2004 Prius? Jill |

http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/2004/prius/tax.html separate letter for the 2004 Prius, but it does qualify for the federal Clean Fueled Vehicle deduction. |

Hello Prius fans, The dealer never called me so yesterday I asked my local dealer where my car was. Even though the VIN was on the bill of sale, they sold mine to someone else! If I even get delivery before the end of the year, their CEO is going to get more than an earful. PO'd in Portland,OR |

| Be sure and call Toyota's customer service line on this as well. They need to be aware what their dealers are doing. | |

oooops Thanks for the tip Sylvia! I called Toyota customer service today. Result: -they will 'suggest' to the dealer to use all their resources to find a vehicle in timely fashion. -they will refund $500 to me upon a copy of my bill of sale at delivery, up to one year, for being a loyal Toyota buyer!! Now that's a great company policy. The dealer has offered no perks. |

...this morning I was parking my Cadillac in the school parking lot, and when I looked up, a relatively dirty maroon colored 2004 Prius was pulling in. This is the new model, mind you, and it was a student here at school. I'm not sure where or when they bought it, but it really looked kind of cool, especially the beige interior. Kind of weird that I've already seen this car, considering we leave in the second smallest state, Delaware. There isn't even any dealer close to here, except for about 45 minutes away. Should these cars already be out? |

| I wandered into a dealer on 10/23 to see if they had any stock I could try on for size. They did. I then asked when I could get on. The dealer said it had an unallocated model coming in 3-5 weeks. The color was acceptable and it had the minimal packages we wanted, so I took it. I am taking delivery tomorrow on 11/1. | |

Hi alnvilma, Which dealer were you dealing with in Portland? I went to two on Sunday to test drive a Prius, had a bad experience at one, and an ok one at the one in Beaverton. I'd be curious as to which to avoid. |
