I have an 03 4x4 8cyl My problem is I can't grease the front u-joint. The joint doesn't open up far enough to put the grease gun on the fitting. Haven't had it to the dealer yet. I just bought it last week. please help! |

problems in my 05 access cab sr5. i have notice that after coming to a stop at a red light there is sometimes a clunk and the truck surges forward just a little. Also, i noticed that while accelerating downhill(and only downhill)from 3rd to 4th gear, instead of shifting around 2200 rpm as usual, it will rev up to about 3200 rpm and hang there for a few seconds and then shift and then shift again to catch up. i have seen about half a dozen posts dating back to 2002 from people who have had the clunking at a red light. if you come across any more info on this please let me know, i'm not real convinced that these are "normal" which is what my dealer's service tech said. it doesnt happen all the time, and when i took my mechanic for a ride it didn't happen. any info on this would be greatly appreciated, as i have 30,000 miles now and would like to figure out this problem before my warranty runs out.

1/ if you have a Reese hitch go get the cap and throw it as far away as you can. After 4 years of non use I went to use it and it had rusted so bad inside that the sleeve would not go in. Took me two days of solvents and beating to make it useable. Dealer response was "we see that all the time" duh, a heads up would have been appreciated. 2/ Do not let the dealer talk you into just replacing pads and turning rotors to solve the warping problem. Comes right back, Cha Ching!

| When you go to the power slot cryo rotors and Hawk metallic pads do you still use the old OEM calipers? Thanks. | |
| Anyone having a problem with the light. as soon as the tempature gets over 60 outside the light flashes. the pressure is correct. Is there a way to turn it off. From western mass and the temps change so much here in a days time it is crazy. Thanks for any help it's a 2005 ext cab step side. | |

Replying to: capt2 (May 19, 2006 5:04 pm) They sell towing packages with the intention that they will be used. If I buy a truck with AC, but don't use it for 4 years, I would expect it to not work as advertised too. Don't expect a letter in the mail from the dealer or a Toyota service bulletin to tell me that.

I have lost my light for the odometer, speedometer, etc. The headlights work fine, but when I turn on the headlights I don't get any light for the gauges. Makes it tough to drive at night, as you can imagine. I have checked fuses and cannot find a bad one although I am not positive which fuse controls the instrument panel light. I have pulled the front panel off the dash around the radio hoping to find the light but no luck. Does anyone know where the bulb is located and how to get to it? Thanks much.

My 2000 Tundra has 135000 miles on it. I recenly had the carrier bearing replaced because the rubber seal was ruptured. Now the drive shaft vibrates. The dealer says I need a new drive shaft and wants aboout $850 to replace it. It took them over 4 hours to replace the carrier bearing. I think they damaged the drive shaft when replacing the bearing. Any comments or suggestions??? Thanks Papalou56 |
