Figuring out the Nav System by billiec

We THINK we are decently intelligent people, but can't seem to figure out the Nav system operation. We can get it to do some basic mapping, but when we go to register "home" or some other function, all we get on the menu is the Emergency switch. Everything else is greyed out. Many of the screens are greyed out and we can't find out how to make them accessible. Anyone else having this problem? Called the dealer. He's going to give me a tutorial this afternoon. Seems like they'd have some clearer instructions in the manual!

Daytime Running Lights? by milder

I just got a 2005 Prius with package 6. I see there's a feature on my headlights where I can (*if installed) set my headlights to "Auto" and they'll adjust for daytime and stay on continuously. However, I don't have that setting. Why? Is this an error? Does it exist on another package?

It exists in some countries... but not the U.S., if that's where you live.

Headlights like that are available as an option (but I'm not sure about the U.S. market); standard on the 2nd gen Prius is the ability to leave the headlight switch on all the time. When you turn the car off and open the driver's door, the headlights will go off by themselves. The next time you start the car, the lights will come back on. However, there is no "daytime dim" mode.

I am also in the market for a #7. I live in Los Angeles and wondering if you can recommend a dealer with a 500 mi radius.

Do you have any intel on how long I would have to wait to save the $1K? Probably until the 07s hit the market?

Thank you for your help.

I have the same problem on my '05 Prius. Were you able to resolve the problem? Thank-you

There are several dealers in the LA market, notably one of the highest volume, if not THE highest volume dealer in the the US, Longo Toyota. It's part of the Penske Group.
