depends - what model year of Prius did you buy? on a US 2004 Prius, the cruise control is standard. on a US 2001-2003 Prius, cruise control is an option. if you have a 2001-2003 Prius, you can add cruise control to your vehicle. Toyota sells a retrofit kit that's about $250 that you could install yourself (what I did for my 2001 Prius), or you can buy the remote cruise control from http://www.coastaletech.com/cruise.htm |

| Thanks guys, I found it. I guess I was too in awe with my first experience looking at all the cool stuff that I couldn't see the basics! | |
| My dealer has complained enough to get two of the demo Prius cars they have used for the dealer test drives. They are real basic versions - not even the rear window wiper. Feeling that a car in the hand now, so to speak, is better than one in two weeks, is there anyone who can offer an opinion or experience as to whether the rear wiper really is needed? | |

sms75: The answer lies within you individual driving needs and conditions. Here is how and it might be considered in the area of safety. Any vehicle whose rear glass comes close to its tail end (Hatchbacks, vans, coupes with large glass windows, etc) will be exposed to the back wash of the vehicle when it kicks up spray. This is further apparent when you live in an area that it rains and is dirty, or it snows and they use alot of salt and sand. If you do, the back wiper and washer, will be a GOD sent when it is cold and you cannot see out of it. If you live in an area that is dry, not dirty, not windy, or you watch your car often, it can be an option. Same really goes for FOG/Inclement Lighting which many people use as running lights. I hope this helps. abfisch |

Has anyone installed a satelite radio in the 2004 prius? Thanks for the info |
|
| Hmmm. I haven;t seen anyone who has put a satellite radio in the prius. I'm not even certain you can put an aftermarket radio in the car. The reason I'm saying that is because the radio controls are integrated into the touchscreen display. Thus, aside from a external volume control on the steering wheel and center console, the radio has no buttons from what I remember. So who knows whethr an aftermarket radio would be compatible. Aside from the poor rearward visibility in the car this fact is my single biggest caveat with the prius. If you can't put an aftermarket radio in the car you have to buy the upgraded system as an option, which means you pay almost a grand for a system thats probably worth less then 500 bucks. . | |
| The dealer told me no sunshine roof options becuase the roof has a dip in it. Has anyone out there got one? | |
