Volvo's use zero clearnace engines, which means if the timing belt breaks, the pistons will come up and crunch the valves. Rebuilding a head is expensive. Much more so than the $900 for the work. Go directly to the mechanic, do not pass go do not collect $200. Let them do the water pump too.
