My mechanic tells me they are virtually bullit proof and has seen many with over 300,000 miles and still running strong. Mine only has 80,000 on it with no repairs to date. With respect to the door remote I bought mine from an ebay seller for just 14.00 with all the necessary instructions. Forget paying 100.00 from a dealer!

Replying to: moms_max (Nov 04, 2009 8:08 pm) Ok, it is a done deal. I am the proud owner of a Red 2007 Solara convertible SLE, with gray leather, and Nav. So far (ok so it has only been a few days) it is the nicest car I have ever owned.
