Learning to eat crow. by mschmal

I apologize. DCAR is NOT metallic. This is based on me looking at a 2008 GT CS up close on my lot.

The insert that Ford shipped with our color catalogue shows a metallic version of DCAR but that is not what is on the cars from the Factory.

The order guide also says that DCAR is metallic.:

EXTERIOR COLOR CHANGES
New Colors Added:
— Silver Clearcoat Metallic (Replacing Satin Silver)
(YN)
— Dark Candy Apple Red Clearcoat Metallic (Replaces
Redfire) (JV)
— Vapor Clearcoat Metallic (Replacing Tungsten) (ZY)

Typical FORD, say one thing do another.

Incidently, it could just be a screw up. Dark Toradore Red comes in both clearcoat and clearcoat metallic.

Mark.

I am really confused. Cougarjunkie, 2008 order guide, Edmunds.com, and brochure all say DCAR is metallic. Mark, do you have more than one on the lot? Could the paint be defective on your in stock vehicle? It seems really strange they would make a change like that after all the literature is printed. I really do prefer a metallic paint. I would have picked another color had I known.

As near as I can tell, the battery drain relates to power drawn by the radio and, possibly, the alarm system. I've have no problem so long as I remember to turn the radio off when parking. Fortunately, the car's garaged so I have no need to activate the alarm.

I had a radio do that to my 03 Navigator! I finally figured it out when I approached the car one night, and the radio buttons were glowing in the dark, and the set was hot. Changed out the radio (under warranty), and no more problem.

Mustang GT snows by 08pony

I have used 16" wheels and snows on my 05 V6 premium Mustang. I was thinking of trading my 05 for an 08 Mustang GT. The GT comes with 17" wheels standard. Is there anything about the GT that would prevent me from using my 16" wheels and snows on the GT? Tire Rack recommends 16" snows on V6 premium but on the GT recommends 17". Is it a brake caliper issue?

Yes - the calipers need to fit inside the wheel and the 16" might not be big enough. Hopefully someone has checked that out and can tell you for sure.

Tirerack won't sell you a 16" rim for the GT FWIW. I'm pretty sure I've read on other forums that 16 inch wheels are a no no on the GT too.
