Give a premium a shot and see if you notice a difference. My mileage decreased because I drive it more aggressively.

Just putting in a K&N filter will usually increase the intake noise a little. An entire CAI will be more dramatic. It's not exhaust noise - more of a turbine sound under the hood.

Some CAIK with the increased airflow and lack of enclosure do provide an increase in noise primarily under hard acceleration (unless the vehicle has also had an exhaust mod i.e. headers or "Cat Back" mufflers such as "Borla Stingers").
 
For those old enough to remember, think back to the days of a 4BBL carb that when the secondary's were opened creating a distinct (and welcome in my case) "sucking sound" from the increased air being drawn in.

Priority 10 proof? by cougarjunkie

Hey Mark (or anyone else who might know the answer):
 
Can't the dealership give me some kind of document showing that I have priority 10? I called the dealership earlier today and talked to the lady who placed my order. She seemed disgruntled when I asked if she could fax me the Vehicle Order Confirmation. She went on to say that my order has been placed with the plant. She also said that everyone is priority 99 until the order is with the plant, and that after the order is with the plant priority numbers don't matter. She asked me where I was getting my information.
 
She then said something about waiting a week and half to see if there are any changes to the order, and that after a week and a half she gets a VIN number. I asked if I could have my VIN number. She asked why. I said that I wanted to track the order with Ford. She said that if I needed any information I should deal with the dealership.
 
She compared my situation to standing in line. She said I'm behind others who have ordered, and that two other guys who ordered after me are behind me. This really shouldn't matter if the dealer has sufficient allocation, should it?
 
I really didn't care for her testy attitude. (She must not work off of commission.)
 
I'm wondering if the dealership is trying to hoodwink me. So I return to my original question. Can't the dealership provide evidence of my priority number?
 
If they can, and they won't, then I feel like cancelling my order and going elsewhere.

Explain the situation to the sales MANAGER first and give him or her a shot to work with you. Tell them you understand priorities and you have friends who work for Ford who would like to help you track the order. If they still won't do it I'd walk away - they're trying to hide something.

Ah, but that's the problem. I don't understand priorities, except that "10" is the best. How do I verify that I have a 10? Or is she correct when she says that everything's priority 99 before the order is placed, and once the order is with the plant priority numbers don't matter?
 
I'm willing to give the sales manager a shot. I just need to make sure what's what before I talk to them again. Are dealerships able to give proof that an order is priority 10, and should I insist on this proof? I don't want to get "stroked", as Mark was saying.
 
Or is it wiser to ask for the VIN number?

When I placed my order last week, the dealer gave me a printout listing all my specs. At the top of the printout it states PRIORITY 10. The document I have looks legit. CougarJunkie, seems like the nasty woman isn't being cooperative or truthful. I have it at work and will check tommorrow to see if the printout has a title on it.

Just read article from c&d magazine about 09 mustang sporting new 5.0L Anyone else think Ford will do this. Sounds to good to be true to me. It would seem like with that kind of displacement Ford could easily get 400HP from GT..which begs the question why would anyone want to purchase Shelby GT (with 319hp) or even GT500 when one could land a 400HP GT around invoice price? Also anyone know anything about what Ford might offer for 45th anniversary? First and only tang I ever owned was a 99 35th anniversary...it took me through highschool..college..and marriage in 5 crazy years. I'll never forget getting a special package from Ford that included 3 musical CDs..a book on mustangs..etc. It was a nice touch..I hope they do the same for the 45th anniversary..which I will likely plan to buy..thanks for any info that might be floating out there!
