Re: davidz - Where does one get the invoice? [igiban #480] by davidz

According to the Edmunds link I posted above, holdback is usually paid to the dealer at the end of the calendar quarter. I presume it's paid regardless of whether or not the dealer has sold the car.

With a MSRP of $34,734, I calculate an invoice price of about $30,620 (about 88.2% of MSRP).

Bank Fee for New York Through Lexus by jdimaria
May 19, 2004 (5:42 am)
I am new to this forum, just trying to get some info. My father who currently owns a 2001 ES300 (the lease is ready to expire) would like to lease a 2004 ES330. However when he went to a dealer to make the deal with them although the monthly payment seemed OK the out of pocket fees seemed quite high. Around $2100. When my father question this the sales rep stated that this was because of the Bank Fee which through Lexus is $1200 for people who live in NY. Is this true or is this just a way for the dealer to make extra money off my father? Anyone lease recently in NY through Lexus?

Sound suspicious to me. Call another Lexus dealer or look in the phone book for car brokers or leasing agents. Then you can compare prices, terms, etc.

You're correct. I had a bad number in my spreadsheet. Thanks for helping me catch it!

I get an invoice price of $33,717, but that's a lot closer to you number than to my original number.

February 2005 by carcar
May 22, 2004 (1:29 pm)
Hello everyone! We're going to be in the market for a new Lexus in February/March of '05. I was wondering, that, since there would still be 2004s remaining on dealers' lots during that time, would it be unheard of to be asking for 81% of MSRP? I'm not sure on how long Lexus dealers keep vehicles on their lot, but would they go for that price during that time? The vehicle we're considering is this:
2004 Lexus ES330
 No color preference
 NAV/Mark Lev. System
 HIDs
 Heated seats
 Power Rear Sunshade

The MSRP on that is $37,760 (including dest), and I'm looking for it under or at $30,000. So 81% is $30,586, stretching the budget. That's a $7000 discount on the dealer's part, so that's why I'm wondering if it's realistic to pay that for a 2004 Lexus in 2005.

Any input is much appreciated.

kennyg5,
I'm open to purchasing a demo from a dealer. Thanks for the response. But do dealers still have 2004 demos during 2005?

ES 330 ND/NL in TX/OK by rkurella
May 26, 2004 (12:53 pm)
I got a quote for 32,900 for ND package. MSRP 36,384 (90.4%) via e-mail in TX. I saw lower %s as low as 87-88% in townhall. Any one around TX/OK have any experiences with lower than 90%?

Thanks to you all for your time and expertise.

Getting price quotes over Internet or phone by menhir
May 31, 2004 (4:00 pm)
New to the forum. Would like to hear from people who got bids/negotiated mainly via internet or phone. Do you simply e-mail dealers and ask for quotes or do you give them a price? Also, any experiences with Pohanka or other Lexus dealers in the DC Metro area (N Virginia or Maryland)? Looking to buy with Nav and power rear shade -- MSRP 34780 including destination charge. Are folks in DC area getting 88% of MSRP as some elsewhere seem to have received? Thanks in advance.
