My uncle's 2002 ES300 with every bell and whistle costs $38789. So I would say Opt 2 sounds good.

If you live where there is snow or rain storms, make sure you get the VSC/Traction control option.
Not sure if that is a stand alone option on the '04, but it was on the '03ES. It's an important safety feature and saved my "b..." once.

Could Use your Help:-) by starrin

Hi,

My wife and I are seriously considering the ES330:

Would like to get the following Options Package:
Navigation System/Mark Levinson® Audio Package with Additional Options
$5,390.00
  - Navigation System/Mark Levinson® Audio Package
  - High-Intensity Discharge Headlamps (HID) with Rain Sensing Wipers
  - Heated Front Seats
  - Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
  - Wood and Leather Steering Wheel
  - All-Season Tires
  - Power Rear Sun Shade

MSRP from the lexus.com = $37,740.00

Edmonds TMV = $36,308

I just emailed back a dealer letting him know essentially that we are looking for an offer below 36k (this would include destination, processing, handling).

Am I on drugs? Or would this be a good price for the dealer?

I am trying to gauge if I am realistic or not negotiating all-that-well.

Thanks in advance for any advice/input,

Jason

starrin/Jason - see post #210. My Opt2 looks like what you want and the offer was $35,910 incl dest fee. I think it's a fair price and a win-win. BUT it's all relative to what you can get. Talk to 3 dealers in your area and pick the best price and package.

Toydriver - thanks for the tip on the VSC. It's included in my Opt2.

asked about any experiences any of you have had in purchasing the Lexus 7yr/100,000 warranty. I did not get any responses, so I thought I would try again. Has anyone had any luck getting dealers to discount the warranty? My dealer wants $1,500. How does that sound?

I just finalized a deal on the ES330 (premium with HID, heated seats, wood and leather, back window shade, chrome wheels, and tinting) for $31,500. This price does not include taxes or registration.

Thanks gekko -- I think this is the price I will shop around with. Essentially I am taking the approach of:

"Do not even invite me over to the dealership unless the price is sub 36k" Essentially the budget just will not allow any fluctuation.

Thanks!

too high...starrin by luego

$36K is quite high for the car you want even with all those options. Edmund's TMV is a bit inflated (if you're in SoCal). Carsdirect price is more the real-world price at the tune of $34.2 for the car and options you want. You can actually go lower than this. Elderkong certainly got the best deal I have heard of in quite a while.

Good deal appears to be MSRP minus $2,000.

Great deal appears to be MSRP minus $2,500.
