Hey newcarbuyer3. You want to roll $10,000 in negative equity from your current lease into a new one?!?! If it will cost that much to break your current lease, you are better off waiting until its scheduled end to get a new vehicle. You're right, the lease money factor that you were quoted is terrible. It's much higher than Lexus' current buy rate money factor of .00123 for this car. If I was in your situation, I'd wait to get a new vehicle. If I absolutely couldn't wait, I'd at least make sure that my monthly payment was being calculated using the buy rate money factor.

Congratulations on your new car, JTbooze. Any Lexus for under invoice is a good deal. Thanks for taking the time to stop back and let us all know how everything turned out. Enjoy!

Hi Sanjay. In order to estimate what your lease payment should be like on this car, I need you to provide me with its full MSRP and selling price. Remember that the selling prices of leased vehicles can be negotiated, just as if you were paying cash for or financing them. You may be able to get an idea of how much you will have to pay for an ES right now by visiting the following discussion: "Lexus ES 300/ES 330: Prices Paid & Buying Experience".

Does anyone know what the current January money factors and residuals are? My salesman said Lexus just lowered the MF to .00197

Hi mywave. The salesperson who told you that Lexus' current lease money factor for the '06 ES 330 is .00197 was correct. It wasn't just lowered though, it's been at this level since the beginning of the month. I'd be happy to give you an idea of what this car's residual value should be, but in order for me to do so I need you to tell me how long you want to lease it for and how many miles per year you need to be able to drive it. For now, I'll assume that you want a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. If you were to lease an '06 ES 330 without navigation through Lexus Financial Services for those terms, its residual value should be 55%.

I am looking into a lease for a 2006 ES 330 with navagation. My local dealer (las vegas) just ran the following ad and I would appreciate your comments on it...it looks good to me.
2006 ES300, navigation,leather,sunroof,6 disc CD changer,PW/LOCKS/Seats, power sunshade,Heated and cooled seats. MSRP 37,569...36 mo, $399, $2000 down + first payment+TT&L due at signing. Is this too good to be true?
Also, what about MSD (Mutiple Security Deposit? Is it something to consider...how does it really work?
Tahnks in advance.

Hello hotjohn. You never mentioned the selling price of the car that you are interested in leasing. This is an important number for you as a consumer to know for two reasons. First, the selling prices of leased vehicles can be negotiated, just as if you were paying cash for them. Without knowing the price of the car that you want to lease you don't know how good a price you are getting it for. The second reason is that one needs the selling price of a vehicle that they want to lease is that it is necessary to calculate its lease payment. I would be more than happy to give you my opinion on this deal if you let me know what its selling price is.

For now, one thing that I can tell you is that it is not a good idea to make a $2,000 down payment on this lease. I always advise consumers against making any sort of down payment when leasing. I do so for two main reasons. The first is if your vehicle is totaled in an accident or stolen during your lease, your down payment essentially disappears. The second main reason is that down payments on leased vehicles do nothing to reduce their lease-end purchase prices. So your lease-end purchase option price for your ES 330 would be exactly the same, regardless of whether you had put $2,000 down, or had made absolutely no down payment at all.
