I am thinking about buying a 1999 Lexus ES 300 from a dealer. It has 165,000 miles, the dealer is asking for $7,999 for it. It has a rebuilt transmission with warranty, and new tires. Should I buy this car? Please let me know what you think, thanks.

Replying to: atoews (Apr 29, 2006 1:45 pm) I got my 2003 TL with NAV and at that time not many carrs had NAV. Over three years later-same story. People that saw the NAV in my car thought it was cool. Whether it was a must for their new car is another thing. Also it has remained an expensive option and packaged mostly on cars with loaded premium packages. I totally agree. I am not lways the best with directions and you get used to having it tell you where to go. To me GPS is a much more useful option than many of the so called premium options in many of these cars.   Rob

Hello all,   I write because I have a question about an offer made on an ES330. A dealer has emailed me about a 2006 ES330 Black Diamond with NAV for 32,880. Does that seem like a good price? The car has about 4,300 miles on it. Sounds good to me- but I want to be sure. Any input would be helpful. Replying to: roachbugg (Jun 23, 2006 8:34 am) I sold my black diamond with 5000 miles on it in the newspaper for $32,000. I wanted the ES 350. The Lexus dealer offered me $28,500 for it in May, after I had just paid $34,200 in Feb. So, if I were you, I would assume that they have less than $29,000 in it, and I would negotiate down. $32,800 sounds too much.   The black diamond is a beautiful car. The ES350 is even more so.
