I have a 2005 ES-330 which is essentially the identical car to the 2006. There has been some criticism of the hesitation problem on these boards over the past year. I did experience the problem when the car was brand new and asked the dealer about it. I was told to "drive the car harder" as the computer which controls the transmission had to "learn" my driving style. While I was skeptical I did just that and the problem quickly disappeared. I now have over 20,000 miles on the car and haven't had a single problem with the car. The car has no squeaks or rattles, has plenty of power for the highway and handles very well. Owned a Lexus LS before and while this car isn't as quiet as the LS it is well below the noise level I think you'll find in anything comparable. From a fit and finish standpoint I have yet to see another brand of car which matches the quality of the Lexus products.
Gas mileage, as with any car, varies with where it's driven and how it's driven. On purely highway drives where the speed limit is 55-65 I have gotten as high as 29MPG. Driving the car for everyday type driving I would say it's more in the 20MPG-22MPG range.
Snow wise the car is probably as good as any front wheel drive vehicle. The electronic traction control kicks in very quickly and you can feel it reduce the power to the wheels as soon as it senses a wheel slipping. The ABS works fine..keeps the car straight when you apply the brakes in a packed snow situation. I have the regular all season tires that came with car but you may want to install a winter tire if you are in a heavy snow belt.
One complaint, albeit a minor one, is that I have the nav system which can be operated by "voice command". What I have found (and I hear it's a common problem in other brands with similar systems too) is that if the car is being driven the system tends to misunderstand some of the commands. Apparently this is caused by the background noises. Again, not a big problem as anything you would use a voice command for you can enter by pushing a button, more of an annoyance.
Overall, this is our third Lexus product (the LS and a 2002 ES before this one) and I'd be hard pressed to switch brands for my next car.
Hope this helps with your decision.

Since your question is more general in nature and not specific to the ES, you might have better luck looking at some of our discussions on the Smart Shopper board. If you re-post there, you might get more responses.

Thanks for your reply Kirstie. I looked at some of the other forums and it seems those who did use carbargains were primarily purchasing domestic cars and I was curious if any Lexus owners had used the service.

Am in the market for an ES330 with Sirius and the 6-disc changer. Looks to retail around 34k. Any chance I could get for invoice? Am looking at the Accord EXL sedan but thought if I could get into an ES330 I would like it much better.

Anyone around the Birmingham area recently buy their ES330? Just starting the process of putting together a deal and wanted to check prices paid if available.
I like the 87-89% off MSRP prices I've seen posted yet they seem to be end of last year. Toyota, oops Lexus (both) do a great job controlling inventory to inflate S&D controlling prices. FYI, if you're patient you can beat them at their own game!!!!!
#1290 of 1426 Price of 2006 ES in Central Jersey

After ~1hr "discussion", we came down to $33,100 for a limited edition, in Medison area. But the trade-in didn't work out. So I decided to sell my old car myself. Any one out there could get me a sense of the offer: a good deal, or a great deal for me, or not?

I bought a brand new 2006 Lexus 330 two weeks ago with the Sirius radio and 6 CD changer in the Birmingham, AL area. It has the Level II package, (heated and cooling front seats) which has everything except the Nav and gas pedal adjustment. Purchased car through the Internet Sales Manager. I bought it for 32,500 + tax/title = 34, 5?? with the Pearl White exerior color.
