Hello,
New to this forum. I'm hoping to import a 2008 Boxster S and was wondering if you had any problems with the CMVSS 114 (immobiliser) requirement on your Cayenne?
thx.

We have no problem with the immobilizer when importing the 2008 new Porsche Cayenne. The Daytime Running Light needs to be turned on though.

Thanks for the response. I recently got the recall clearance letter from Porsche Cars North America. In the letter they state that the instrument cluster needs to be changed. That's news to me as the speedometer and odometer digital readout can be switched to metric.

Did you clearance letter state that as well and if so did you have to change the instrument cluster?

Thanks again for the help.

I imported a 2007 911-4S Cab in late march of this year. Got the letter from Jolene at Porsche as well. Said exactly the same thing. Try to get a "Job management report" from a dealership as well. I had both. RIV glanced at the latter and said that's what they usually see and it's oK. No changes whatsoever need on my 911. D.R. Lights activated at the US dealer as part of my pre-purchase inspection package ( about 250 total... just lights about 50) That dealership inspection is well worth it. As well as checking for recallsand all previous repairs, they check basic mechanicals, bodywork for re-painting and drive the car as well, and give you a written report.

The RIV will either need a recall clearance letter from Porsche manufacturer, or a "print out" from the dealer. The "print out" for Porsche is the job management report. The latter will be more convenient.

Thanks for the note. I phoned PCNA and was told that the sentence regarding changing the instrument cluster is part of the form letter and that the 08 Boxster S will not need to be changed.

Good news. I crossed the Coutts AB border today without any issues. 30 minutes to get accross. Hopefully the rest of the import journey goes as smooth. The car is fantastic.

Has anyone done this in to Alberta lately? How does the pricing compare? Is there any difficulties that are not mentioned here?
