Replying to: edwardc3000 (Mar 29, 2007 5:59 pm) So here is what your actual invoice should look like: Invoice MSRP Base Price* $40,571 $46,635 Selected Options $4,419 $5,550 Destination Charge $715 $715 Levinson Audio Package $2,633 $3,250 ThirdRow Seat/ Rear Air $1,624 $2,030 (PIO) Wheel Locks $49 $79 (PIO) Carpeted Cargo Mat $55 $92 (PIO) Cargo Tray $58 $99 Total* $45,705 $52,900 TDA (Toyota dealer Adv fee) $583 Dealer Invoice Total $46,288 So If your dealer is selling you at $47,300 he asking for $1012 over his invoice. Remember he still has a dealer holdback and Wholesale reserve in excess of $1300 even if he sells you at his $46,288. A couple of points: 1) How do I get the actual Invoice? Ask 2) Is the TDA negotiable? In my opinion yes but since it is early in the year and dealers are very bullish that they can sell the cars they are in no mood to negotiate. Since I got is way below invoice I was OK. 3) If you are comfortable with that price and no one else is giving that price go for it. I would personally get the DVD player if I go for a Third row seat. However you can get the car shipped with from Calif. with more options at a price below invoice. 4) With my experience (other members who bought in Calif. can chime in) you will not find a similar car in Nor./So. Cal. The reason is that any car with TH (third row seat) also comes with RI (rear 9" roof DVD player), Z1 (includes C1, GN, Wl), TO (Towing ready), DD(Rear Spoiler). Please send me your email id and I can send you the details or you can ask others who have received the dealer contacts from me to send it to you. Hope it helps and all the best with your purchase. |

I appreciate all the info I have gathered from this site recently. I am planning to purchase a 2007 GX470 in about 2 months after my Toureg lease ends. (No way I would buy it at lease end).I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Anyone had any experience with the dealers in this area for this type of purchase? I can always look in Chicago (1 1/2 hrs away) Seems like there are deals out there. The 2 dealerships in my area, however, are both owned by the same people. I am thinking that because of this I will not have much negotiating ability, but who knows. I have never paid much over invoice for a vehicle but have never purchased a lexus. What can I expect in the Milwaukee/ Chicago market regarding pricing relative to invoice. I plan to buy, not lease. I would be willing to buy anywhere in USA and have it shipped but for obvious reasons if I can get it close I would prefer to do so. I have read about the great deals in So. Ca. but wonder about emissions issues and whether this is of significance regarding peformance or maintainance. I don't have a problem with reasonable shipping from reputable dealers if need be. Hope you all can help. I look forward to your advice. Mike |

Replying to: sicom007 (Mar 30, 2007 3:22 pm) Let me begin with an east coast THANK YOU!! I was sooo turned off by the dealer experience, (and this is from a NEW LEXUS store that opened on 3/1), that I went and drove a BMW X5 today.. Honestly (and we own an 04 325Ci Convertible) and IMHO, there is NO comparison between the two vehicles. The Lexus is just a better riding, comfortable and quiet car, AND when I mentioned that my 01 RX has never, ever, never been back to the dealership (or any repair shop for anything other than maintenance since the day it left the showroom), the reply was "Yeah, they are good that way.." I hope you get this quickly since I hate my e-mail in a public forum but nevertheless.. my e-mail is phula11231 I have no issue with the DVD player, it's just that we dont need one..(no small children) but no issues with adding any of the other options you mentioned.. Is there a difference in CA vehicles emissions? I thought the GX was 50 state legal, meaning that they were the same exact vehicle in CA, NY and the other lower 46..? Any problems or extra caution to worry about..? I would like to hear from anyone who has successfully shipped a vehicle from Cali to the east coast too, please. Thanks Sicom. ! Ed in NJ

So I went to 3 other NJ Lexus dealers today.. Not one would consider ANYTHING less than $1K over invoice (and keep in mind that today is the last day of the month)so, if this discussion presents anything close to the $1000-$1500 UNDER invoice, even with another $500 for delivery, it's one heck of a deal.. Looking forward to getting the information suggested above.. Would still like to hear from anyone that has actually taken delivery (other than Sicom007 of course), cause the NJ dealers think I am off my meds.. Thanks ED |

Replying to: edwardc3000 (Mar 31, 2007 1:13 pm) This is the car I purchased: Cypress Pearl Ivory NL, TH, TO, DD, E5, Z1 & Tow Equipment No - I didn't get DVD even though I had 3rd Row. The Internet Sales rep I worked with, was great...straight forward and better than the others - which is why I stuck with her. Best deal in Colorado was 3500.00 off MSRP and that was last month, this month, 2 dealers wouldn't even get me 2000.00 off MSRP. Was tired of dealing with them. Now for shipping. I am going to do some more research. They will ship for $750, but covered. I think I am going to go uncovered and find someone close to $500.00.

Replying to: infonut (Apr 01, 2007 7:41 am) One way to know if you paid the TDA or not would be to ask the dealer for the actual invoice. Since you have bought from them they should not have any issues in sending you the actual invoice? BTW which dealer did you buy from (only name please no contact details as per forum rules) and what was the price before TTL?

Replying to: edwardc3000 (Mar 30, 2007 8:25 pm) Not because I live in California, but I think if any car passes the emission controls in CA it will be fine in any other State On a serious note I would defer that question to either the dealer or the Lexus themselves. I know someone from Seattle did order a car from the same dealer (diljit?). Atleast that's what the dealership told me when we picked up up our car. Maybe he can answer. Not sure if you need any more information from me at this time but please let me know.
