Can you please let me know who the dealer was in Houston? Was this the best offer you found? If so I'd like to contact them to see if they have one available. Thanks!

I got the same offer, $46900, from Clear Lake Lexus and Sterling McCall Lexus. I think both dealerships are owned by the same person. I went with Clear Lake, closer to home. I offered a couple of dealership, Westside and Northside Lexus, $46500. But both said no. I did all the negotiation via email and told them I was ready to make the purchase the next day.

I am also looking into a GX470.

My question for you guys is:

Since it is the end of year should I get the 2005 edition or 2006?

Im am leaning towards a 2005 since I am more likely to get a bigger discount. But in the short few years how will depreciation hurt me?

I am betting that the 2006 model wont have big big changes and that I should get a better finance rate in the 2005.

Thank you in advance.

I'm in the same boat... this seems like a great time to get a good deal on a 2005, but then it starts off with a year of depreciation soon after you drive it home. Still I think 2005 is the way to go unless you are planning to lease, in which case you're probably better off with a 2006 since it will have a higher residual and your payments probably won't be much different than a 2005, but you'll have a 1 year newer car when the lease expires.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I paid MSRP for my 2003 when they first came out. I have an order in at Lindsay Lexus of Alexandria, Virginia for a fully loaded 2006 GX (including the Sports Package) and have been quaking in my boots at the prospect of negotiation. This is encouraging. Would you mind telling where you're getting this deal? At least the city? Thanks.

$48,500 seems a damn good price for a loaded 2006 GX 470. Which dealer quoted you this price? Thanks
