Well sales are good but most of the problem right now is the transition to 2007s. Fitzmall usually has 40 RAV4s, but only a few for the last month almost.

Since I am guessing that Roanoke is in the SE region try this:

Go to www.toyota.com , go to build and buy and enter your zip code. This should show you the SE region stock which is 900 RAV4s in or coming in. from there you can see what your dealer or other dealers have by playing with local zips. SE region has awefull prices and fees. If you are flexible and go to www.fitzmall.com you can get your RAV4 for $200 over invoice + $99 fee. in Baltimore MD.. Fly up there on a Southwest internet fare for $50, they bring it to the airport and you might save $1000 or more versus your local dealer. lots of people on the net have done it. One guy all the way from Little Rock, AK!

Good luck

Inventory--Build your own "special" zip codes by rav4mn

I noticed earlier that if you enter zip code 34423 in the toyota.com build your own tool, you see the ACTUAL inventory for the SE region.

Is the a "special" zip code for the midwest region? (Or other regions for that matter). (If I enter my zip code the build your own tool acts completely differently, and does NOT show any inventory info whatsoever.)

I am after a Blizzard Pearl, V6 Limited, tow pkg, three rows, taupe interior, sun roof, and am having a devil of a time in the midwest region. (But I am being quoted $700 over invoice, Costco price, when/if they find one.)

I have a question on out of state purchases and taxes. Do you pay taxes only in the state you ultimately register/license your vehicle? My real question is...you don't have to pay taxes in both states...right?

Is this a good price? by pittsburgher

Hi. I've been reading these posts for a week or two, and decided to check out FitzMall. They gave me a price for a 2007 RAV4 4x4 Sport V6 with JBL, moonroof, tow package, tonneau cover, preferred accessories package, wheel locks and mudguards for $26,546 (plus tax, title and tag). I called a local dealer to see what they would say about that price and they told me the dealer that offered the price was only making $50 on the sale. In fact, the sound of the dealer's voice seemed to indicate he didn't believe the price I quoted to him.

I was a little bummed that I couldn't get the security system or auto-dimming mirror. But I guess I can buy and install the mirror myself. The vehicle is silver, that was the 3rd of my color choices (Red and Flint Mica were tied for 1st).

Roanoke actually falls into the Mid-Atlantic region. I think we're going to end up waiting until at least January-March. Hopefully inventory levels will be higher then.

Hey Jim:

Thanks for that tip. I just saved $88. by going to trdparts. Their prices beat the hell out of my local dealer's. What a great deal! I'll let you know how the rest of the purchase goes. I assume you have bought from them.

Thanks again

Well you are picking a RAV that is maybe .1% of the total

SE region is the only one I can find that shows all the cars.

But if you go to buil and price for your zip code and ones close to you and select dealers then you can go to the web site of each dealer and look at "new inventory". The trouble is it can be tedious and some dealers show the cars but not the options. But if you looking for a Limited with 3rd row it is going to be in the $30. In the NE they only come with leather as far as I can see.
Have fun

I think we're going to forget about the 3rd row, seeing as it's only good for kids or guys named Mini-Me.

No, you don't pay taxes in both states....just the state where you register it.

We'll finally purchased my 2007 RAV4 Limited. Took 4 weeks to get here and so far very pleased. Paid $500 over invoice and out the door with options including sales tax it came to $26,000. I'm sure it was not the "deal of the century" but we got the color and options we wanted so we may have paid a little more than what would have been spend at a wholesale outfit. I also like the idea of working with a sales person and a manager that will "bend over backwords" to make sure I'm happy.

This car has some zip for a 4 cyl. and very fun to drive!! I think I got a decent deal?
