Ready to buy in SoFla - RAV4 by devlo

Everybody,
I am now set on buying a RAV4 by the end of two weeks and have renewed my contacts w/ internet sales people in the Miami/Broward area.
I'm looking to buy:
RAV4 Basic - V4
White/Silver
Standard options added on to RAV4s in the SOFLA area include:

CDAT – Cargo Area Tonneau Cover - invoice - $112 / msrp - $140
DJAT – AM/FM 6-Disc In-Dash CD Changer - invoice - $150 / msrp - $200
DRAT – Black Roof Rails & Crossbars - invoice - $176 / msrp - $220
RLAT – Daytime Running Lights invoice - $32 / msrp - $40
DESTINATION Fee - $605
SET Administration Fee - $558 (Edmunds.com)

Total Invoice: $20,456 (including destination charge, and SET admin fee)
W/ 7% sales tax = $21887.92 (not including tag/title --how much is that anyway?)

This here lies the rub. From the last dealer, he told me that the SET advertising/admin fee was $725. What's up with the discrepancy versus EDMUNDS?

Kendall Toyota offered me $20,995 AND THEN TOLD ME ABOUT THE $725 fee --which sounds like alot.

Can I expect to walk out of the dealership paying for this car at $22,000 flat w/ tax, doc, everything included or am I unrealistic? Any local buyers out there?

Bought 2006 RAV4 V^ Sport by nymike112

Just bought a new V6 Sport. Talked the dealer down to invoice. $26,190 + TTL. Includes tow prep, JBL 6 disc, fog lights, moon roof, daytime running lights, air bags all around, mats. I also negotiated the extended warranty down to $800. I think it was the best one offered. 100k, 7 years. The only thing I couldn't get lower was the interest rate. 6.9% and I have great credit. Thinking about refinancing already.

Sticker price on Base V6 was $26,957. I figured out the invoice price was $23,655 (destination not included). The negotiated price was $25,469 (destination included). Options included: remote start, curtain and side airbags, DTR lights, 3rd row, roof rack, mudguards, tow prep package, and carpet floor mats.

Unfortunately for me the V6 engine and 3rd row combo is impossible to find and I didn't want to wait for ordering specific model. I was too slow commiting to one very similar with the evergreen ext. which I would've preferred over the silver I have now.

Was that a 4x4? What was your out-the-door cost? Including tax, title, delivery, license, etc.
Thanks.

I am looking for V6 Rav4 with Side + curtain airbags and 4*4 .

The dealership i went to in IL ( Northbrook IL ) wanted met to buy the car in stock which wasnt 4 x 4 and was convicing me about the myth .

1 . Is 4 x 4 needed in IL weather ?

2. Can the drive out ( OTD ) price be = invoice price ?

For the options I needed , The invoice = $24900 .

Yes, OTD can be invoice because they will still make $ on the sale (2% of base MSRP). Make sure they aren't including ad fees in invoice...those are commonly $200-$400, but are still negotiable (I didn't pay for those, but still paid $300 over invoice).

Yes, it was the 4x4. I think after everything was said and done, it came to close to $29k ($26k car, $1k title, license and warranty, $2k tax). I picked it up that day at the dealer. Based on my discussions with other dealers and the sales people at the dealer I dealt with, I walked out of there thinking I got a good price. Hopefully that feeling remains after reading these boards.
