Replying to: xiaoxiaoli (Apr 05, 2009 8:04 pm) Another tip is: You have to show the dealer that you are serious about buying a vehicle so that you may get the best price possible. In my case, I think it's a deal acceotable to both parties. |

| I just paid $21,158 OTD for a 2009 Rav4 Base Model with Option OV. Did I make out, or could I have done better? I am in Norfolk, VA. | |

Replying to: cutiepi (Mar 26, 2009 6:24 am) I bought the Black 2009 Rav4, Sport, 4WD, 4Cyl with extra value package, floor mats for $24,400 OTD. This price includes everything (title ($85), tax (5%), doc fee (~$200), etc) there was no discount at that time. I bought this car in first week of December '08 at a dealer in Boston, MA. I guess you can get it at a lower price Hope this helps & Good luck!!! Ram |

Hi, we are getting quotes of around 28400 after the current 500 rebate for a V6 4WD Limited with the QY, TO, BC, and CF-R options. Northern California. Edmunds and other sites have the true invoice as 27510 for those options. Is this a fair/good deal? Seems most people are claiming they are getting true invoice pricing for their Rav4. So far, most aren't even willing to take the 3% over 27510 (before rebate) that I'm offering! What's the deal here?? Bad time to be looking or I'm just not good enough at dealing? Would appreciate any help/tips. |

Best advice that I can give you is to go in ready to buy ON THE SPOT and you give them your price, not let them give you their price. If they take it, great. If not, you say "Thank you, have a nice day". |

On 3/31/09, I leased a 09 Limited, 4WD, cloth. The sticker price: 25,880 car 40 RL (daytime lights) 900 SR (moonroof) 199 CF (carpet) 745 destination 27,764 total MSRP This is what I calculate based on the figures in the lease agreement: Sale price: 25,700 + maintenance plan (495) + gap insur (195) + acquisition (650)= 27,040 residual: 16,537 (60% of MSRP) MF: .0009 term=36 12,000/year payoff old Rav 4 (2 payments left, $810 total) depreciation: $291.75 finance: $39.22 tax (8.375%) $27.72 payoff old Rav4 $22.50 Lease payment SHOULD BE: $381.19 I got it for $357/mo, with basically no money down ($500 down for 1st month, DMV, fees, etc). I think I got a pretty good deal. The salesman told me there were no incentives at the time, but I'm pretty sure there was a factory-to-dealer cash still available in March. No? I bought it at Queensboro Toyota, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. This is the second Rav 4 I leased from them, but they won't be getting any of my money ever again. The salesman lied to me, and later tried to convince me that I misunderstood. As we were negotiating I tolf him exactly what I wanted (apart from the car and options, I wanted maintenance and gap insurance), he came back with $358. I said $350/mo "out the door" and I'll take it right now. He said $355. I said NO, $350 I said "OUT THE DOOR" again. He said ok. He charged my $500 and started on the paperwork. In the itemized bill, he listed the options and maintenance, but no gap insurance. I asked and he said, that I have to go talk to another guy about it and it's extra. WTF? I thought that "out the door" is all-inclusive of taxes/fees/charges. Did I misunderstand? I was pissed but wasn't going to let a good deal go over $7/mo extra. But it wasn't the money, it was the lying and the deceiving that angered me. So, it ended up being $357/mo with the gap. Email me for the saleman's name, if interested. I visited a dealership in NJ today & found 3 vehicles of interest: 2006 Rav-4 v4 AWD-34k miles-18,995-I passed on that one because he wouldn't budge on the price. 2008 Camry LE v4-30k miles-$15,695- maybe 2008 Rav-4 V4 FWD-21k miles-17,797 otd (original listed price was 18,995) All of the vehicles listed above are Certified used. I'm starting to question if paying the extra for certification is really worth it....I know I sound cheap...No judging I'm not expecting you to answer the Camry question but i'd like to know if the Rav-4's are good deals. I'd prefer a used V6 Rav-4 but i've been having a hard time finding one. Thank you Wonderful People!!
