Eadlertx, We actually ended up purchasing our car from Red River Autoplex in Denison where I live and contribute to the local economy. But, I ended up with with 4-5 dealerships who would have sold the car within $70 of the same deal, after a lot of work. Toyota of Dallas, Pat Lobb Toyota, Toyota of Lewisville, Toyota of Paris and Toyota of Ardmore, Ok. If you will email me I can give you the name of the salesmen I talked with.

I just bought a very similar car last month...

Base RAV4, 4 cyl, 4x4, silver, 3rd row, DRL, styled steel wheels, 6 cd changer, floor mats, rear bumper applique, mud guards, and roof rack.

$22,500 plus TTL
no incentive available at the time.

rav4 rebate increase? (vs. Nissan Xterra) by nswartzb

wondering if anyone has any insight on whether toyota may increase the $1000 rebate on the 2008 RAV4s?

right now the 2008 RAV4s are selling at "invoice" plus a $1000 rebate.

this is a very good price, but comparably-equipped (6-cyl) 2008 Nissan Xterras seem like a slightly better value.

the Xterras are selling at ~$1000 below "invoice" plus a $3000 rebate -- effectively ~$3000 less than the RAV4s.

i know these two SUVs are not totally apples to apples, including the RAV4 getting ~$600 better gas mileage than the Xterra each year, but still $3000 is a big difference.

I'm know that if Toyota increased the RAV 4 rebate to $2000 i'd buy the RAV4 over the Xterra.

Thanks for all help and comments.

I saw that Toyota has incentives on RAV4 in certain areas in the US but nothing in North East. Does anyone know the reason and if Toyota will eventually offer it in NE ? Thanks

Here in southeast Toyota charge $670 SET admin fee on top of the total price.. right now they are offering 750 rebate... But I didn't see those SET fees charge in NE.. guess thats why you guys dont have the rebate.. IMO.

There was a $500 rebate during the month of July but you are correct, it appears to have been eliminated for August. I'm hoping Toyota reintroduces a northeast rebate on 2008 models after this this National Sales Event promotion ends on 9/2. Per the press release, the 2009 models should be on the dealer lots by mid-Spetember. This hopefully will trigger new rebates. The 2009 Sport without the spare tire mounted on the rear is certainly appealing although I'm not sure how keen I am on the run-flat tires. Expensive to replace and limited tire selections. So, I'm holding tight until the new models show up next month in hopes of catching a better deal on an '08 and see what they are offering on an '09 (if anything)

I am wondering how come you got 22,500 whereas the invoice price is 23,166 (with all those options)

I am searching for a RAV4 with Third row and most of the toyota dealers are offering 400-500 above invoice. What's your experience, should I bargain to get below invoice or just force them to come to invoice price.

Thanks in advance
