I'm thinking of selling my 07 Rav once I get the title, which should be in the next month or so, just paid it off. I want to just drive my old bug now and save some money. I'm in the Los Angeles area if anyone's interested, it has only 6K. |

I was quoted the following (in San Mateo, CA): 2008 Rav4 4X4 V6 Limited: MSRP: $ 31,361.00 Invoice: $ 28,596.00 (they told me they would sell it at this invoice cost) Rebate: $ 1,000.00 Final Selling Price: $ 30,600.00 plus tax and license. Based on the included options below, is this a good deal? I inputted all of this in the various Edmunds calculators, and it looked like a fair price. Just wanted to get the thoughts of others. Thanks! OPTIONS INCLUDED -Leather seats -Heated seats -JBL stereo system -Daytime running lights -Mud guards -Moonroof -Tow Prep Pkg |

I live near South Bend, IN. The lowest price I got from dealers for Sports trim FWD I4 is $23656 plus tax and doc fees. Is this good enough? By the way, the Sports trim I am referring to includes the mandatory option as in Toyota.com (although on Edmunds, it is really an option). Are dealers being dishonest on this? Thanks for your comments! |

| Ok I have been working hard to get a good deal for a Rav4 6 Base for a good price. I have negotiated a Red one with CD,DR,RL,TO,CF,S6,P4 w/leather added for 24,700 OTD is 26,510.05. or, I can get a silver one w/leather added with CD,DR,RL,TO,AO, P4. for $25,287 OTD is 26,581, only $70.95 higher in the end. I did not know what P4 was and salesman said it was some kind of sealer/silencer they put on them to reduce outside road noise. I guess the difference is do I pay 70.00 more for mud flaps, bumper protector, exhaust tip, roadside assistance, rental car, etc. and silencer and not have the alarm system. The silver has gray interior and the red has taupe. The OTD price threw me on the silver because the cost of the car is more but he swears that is my OTD. I told him I would walk if I got there and it was different. I am in a quandry!! Please help | |

Replying to: vuha21 (Jul 24, 2008 12:44 pm) I live further east than you but I got a quote for a similarly optioned Rav4 w/o the mudguards for a little under $25,000, not the OTD price. I think you could do better. These type of cars aren't selling too well with current fuel prices. The new 2009 models are also around the corner. Given these circumstances, I think you have more room to negotiate. Good luck. |

Well, my husband put an end to my quandry! We went with the Barelona Red! For 2 reasons, 1) Silver was 45 minutes away and at a large volume dealer that probably would have tag-teamed us after we arrived 2)Red one had alarm system that would discount our insurance. Here is the lowdown on purchase: . I finally got the down to $23,600 OTD= $25,339.16. However, I got them to add leather at $1100 xtra making selling price $24,700 OTD= $26,510.00. When we got to the dealership. salesman had added $40 to price. I made him take it off. then we get to finance dept to sign papers they had added $140 to OTD for aftermarket add-ons. I told them this was a deal breaker. I am sure that both price increases were to make up for salesman giving me leather for $1100 because every dealer I talked to quoted $1250 for that addition. There was not much of a hassle he lowered the price of the vehicle to compensate for the $140 and OTD was again $26,510.00. I know they made a little money but I became weary, I was on the phone and email for the last 2 days and no one else would sell me the car for that price. Perhaps, if I had waited until next week ..... but couldn't wait. In the end I am very happy with the purchase. It has the following: CD,PR,RL,TO,CF,S6,P4,vin etching and tint and will have leather next week. I am going to ask them today if they will sell me mud flaps at dealer cost. Hope this helps anyone else looking in Dallas-Ft.Worth area. Please feel free to comment on my final deal. I am anxious to know what everyone thinks!!
