| Just in case this helps. Just bought a 2007 Rav 4 Sport V6 (Moonroof, JBL stereo, Floor Mats, Cargo Tonneau, Daytime Running Lights and Tow Prep) Sticker was $28,714 purchase price $26,617. This appears to be $687 over invoice. I had a feeling that I could have gotten it for a couple hundred less if I was willing to walk away from deal for the day but it was the color (Black) and options that we were looking for so I did not feel like playing around. I found my 07 Rav4 on the lot while visiting family in Ohio. I'd been looking for a 4Cyl 2WD Limited with sunroof and JBL (for BlueTooth). The JBL isn't available yet here in Texas. Anyhow, I stopped at Byers Toyota in Delaware OH. They had (get this) the exact one that I wanted on the lot. Ended up leaving that afternoon with the car at about $1500 off sticker, no fluff or hanky-panky on the deal. They even had someone come in to help me shuttle my rental car back to the Columbus airport 30 miles away. I suspect that I did better because it was the last weekend of the month and I wasn't "pushing" to buy the vehicle. Anyhow, I figured that, with a 22 hour drive back to Texas, I'd love it or hate it.... I do REALLY like the car! |

Hello, I am new to car buying and need some polish to make my first big purchase a wise choice to start off on. I am interested in a RAV4 07' I was told there are no more 06' models in our neck of the woods (Jacksonville, NC) that would be a better deal than the deal being given for the 07', I am wondering if this is true... Dealer is giving an us the number 22,700 (MSRP is 22,250 base)for a 4WD, V4 engine, basic model no frills. And about 1,000 more for V6 (what I wanted, but he says much harder to find). What do I need to ask in particular to understand the nuances of making a deal? Should I say OTD what is your price? Should it be below MSRP? I have very good credit, and wonder what APR to negotiate for. I told him that my bank already approved me (which of course they would but I have been lazy in filling out the forms) for 5.99 rate (which is what my credit card is with them... I need some help, I am a savvy woman, but I worry about making a mistake. Thank you so much! Marine Wife (Supertortz)

Replying to: supertortz (Nov 13, 2006 3:32 pm) usually the price difference between RAV4 4 cyl and V6 is around $2000, from what I have seen. So, 23700 is a good price. I have been offered a quote of $24400 in CO for 2007 RAV4 Base 4x4 V6 with following factory installed options: Roof rack, 6-CD changer, Cargo Net, Tonneau cover, 17 inch 5 spoke alloy wheels, Day time running lights and Tow prep package. This price includes all charges and fees. I will have to pay for Tax, Title and registration fee extra. OTD price is a good way to get the idea of how much you really gonna pay. |

Got an offer for an 07 RAV4 2X2 base model, (List Price $22,163) of $20,495. This is the second place we have tried and the offer is about $800 better than the last one. Is this as good as we are going to get or can we do better? Buying in New Jersey. Thanks for your input. |

Hi All, I got my rav4 last month, and ever since then, I've been using "4" position for my daily driving. It's been 2000 miles already, and I just had a chance read my manual, and it says it's better using "D" position all the time. I m really worried if this "4" position thing really hurt the engine or hopefully not at all. Please advice please. thank you all very much J.S
