A new discount Amt. by zimmy21

We just started looking at the XC70. The MSRP on the floor model was $37.5K. Without blinking, the dealer said through the end of the month they were offering about $5k off the MSRP. So, in the end, it should be between $30k-$32k. So, it is either this car or the Sienna.

Real Spare Tire? by osopolare

Will the trunk of an XC70 fit a real spare tire? I looked in one at a dealer and it looked to me like the doughnut spare that is had was supported by some foam stuff. That could possibly be removed to fit a real spare.

The thought of going somewhere fun in this car but then getting stuck without a real spare makes me like it a lot less...

I'd have to carry a spare in the trunk or strap it on the roof.

Child Booster Seats - Discomfort? by wheel

I am in the process of bying a XC70. The dealers here seem to tell me that the models they ordered 'all' have the child booster seats. I do not need them. My question is - do they affect the space/aesthetics/confort of the back seat?

"Service Loaner" Vehicle by tom21769

An area dealer is offering a "service loaner" V70
with 3700 mi on it for $24,995. It is the base 2.4L engine with automatic. Cloth seats, no other options.
The warranty initiation date was in August 2003, so it loses nearly a year of coverage in addition to the 3700 mi.

Does this sound like a good deal?
Should we be concerned about buying a car that has been loaned out to people whose vehicles were being serviced?

Biggest effect, I would say, is on your bank account! Just tell them you don't need it, you don't want it, and you won't pay for it.

Anybody else in the midst of buying a new XC70 and want to compare notes. Currently, I am looking at a new 2004 XC70 - White Color - Premium Package - Touring Package - Booster Seats.

Currently the dealer is quoting $32,400 (MSRP is 39,240.00)

Anybody else doing better?

WOW! Carbuying101, how do you get so much below MSRP? Edmunds shows no incentives for that model...?
