You must remember that you are driving one of the most sophisticated and complicated vehicles on the road, considering the twin turbo system, 4-wheel drive, and tiptronic transmission.Audi is an engineering company and very few cars on the road have as much technology built in as yours.

I drive the same A6 2.7T for the last 6 years and my driving impression would include some sort of extended service plan or an Audi that was paid for so I could save the payment money every month and "self-insure" myself against repair bills.

I just renewed my extended warranty through Continental Insurance, 3 years/36000 miles at a cost of $1800.00. I have 87000 miles and plan on keeping the car. The plan can be transfered for $50.00 if the car is sold. This isn't a bumper to bumper warranty but does cover the turbos, most engine parts, and the transmission.

It may be less expensive to get the extended service plan than to purchase or lease a new car at this point, of course, depending how "upside down" you are on your present Audi. I still owe about $19,000 on mine, and know I couldn't sell it for that, but the payment is currently $299/mo., the car is in good condition, and that is affordable.

I purchased a Audi 2006 3.2 with Prem, Tech, Sunroof, 18", premium leather(Ammaretto), and cold weather package. I paid $180 over invoice. I also got the tire insurance for $700 which covers any tire replacement, rim, and labor costs. They also covered my last lease payment on my BMW ($540).

What, they didn't pay some of your home mortgage? What a rip off!

Honestly, I think that's a great deal. They lost money by your numbers...$180 over invoice and they paid your $540 last least payment... I wonder what got into them?

Does Audi currently have a loyalty program for existing owners? I know they did in the past, but am curious about now. Does it apply to leases AND purchases?

Thx.

I noticed you paid $700 for the tire coverage. I finalized a deal Saturday at a dealership in PA. The cost for this coverage was $296 plus tx. The dealer stated the cost us to be a lot more but they have changed the way the price is determined. The price is now an average of the national cost. Prior the cost was based on location. Areas more prone to have street issues such as potholes, etc., paid more. Area less prone paid less.
