I was wondering if anyone has purchased a New GTI (with the 2.0T)? Prices paid? I'm in the Atlanta area and the dealers seem to have a lot in stock (about 20 in the metro area). Thanks |

hi. i was looking to buy a new 2006 1.8T gti. how much below invoice shoudl i shoot for? i know when i bought a 2005 BMW 3 series last year it had a $2500 rebate to the dealer from BMW because of the new model 3 series. the situation is similar with the 1.8T 2006 GTIs now with the 2.0T now in the showrooms. but i dont see any rebates from VW?! i woudl really appreciate if people coudl post their prices on a 2006 1.8T. thanks.

On second thought, the MKV is such a better car all around, personally, I would not spend more than $16,000 on a fully decked out new MKIV GTI. If you can't afford a MKV now (totally redesigned chassis, fully independent rear, new Wards Top 10 engine - incredibly broad torque range and relatively low fuel consumption, one of the safest cars on the road today), you may want to safe some money until you can or feel comfortable spending that much money.
