I have been researching the purchase of an Infiniti FX35, 2WD w/ touring package for about four weeks. I knew the invoice price and what Edmunds.com suggested the average purchase was – and, thanks to these forums -- much more educated about leasing. I set out this past weekend to buy my new car. The first time out, I had a very bad experience at Troncolli Infiniti in Decatur, GA and, after two hours of haggling, walked out because I was getting a run-around and additional costs with the revolving sales managers trying to convince me I was getting the best deal in town!

Disappointed and dejected; I came home - scanned these forums again and noticed the postings advising of great experiences with Infiniti Gwinnett (GA). I looked through the messages received from dealers that had responded to my queries via internet earlier in the week; found the name of the internet sales person from Infiniti Gwinnett and e-mailed my expectations. 20 minutes later, I had purchased my new FX35, with Touring Package – including my color choice - AT 1% OVER INVOICE!

I have purchased several new cars over the years but always disliked haggling the price and sleazy dealer "add ons" as well as "hidden" costs. The experience via the Internet with Infiniti of Gwinnett was the best car-buying experience I have ever had!!! I picked up my new FX35 Monday afternoon, signed the paperwork after running through the "delivery" of the vehicle and drove off with the price/payment I had negotiated via the internet. WOW - I don't think I'll ever try to purchase another new vehicle directly in person again.....

FX35 2WD lease in So. Calif. by cadub49er

Rec'd this offer which I am probably going to pull the trigger on in So. Calif. this is on a FX35 2WD Touring (tax is 7.75%)

Quote from a dealer:

Regarding the FX35 with the Touring Package only, has a list price of 38.460.00 and a invoice of 35.247.00
On a 36mo lease including tax your payment would be 518.00 with 527.00 total down.
On a 39mo lease including tax your payment would be 494.00 with 503.00 total down.
The residual is 59% 36mo .00176
The residual is 58% 39mo .00171, Let me know if this will work.

Down payment is nothing more, nothing less.

Sounds good?

What's the actual price you will be paying for the car? In California do you pay tax on the whole price of the vehicle [we do in texas on leases] or just on the payment? Are you making a security deposit for a reduction in money factor?....Dan

It's just on the payment though it equals the tax over the life of the lease. It ended up being $35,600 with a couple add-ons. There was no security deposit. Did pay acquisition fee ($550), title, lic, registration ($296). so it came out to $36,440. It was $458.52 plus 7.75% tax for $494.06

Love the car, handles great!

fx-35 in NY/NJ by artsrt10

I'm looking to replace my 540 w/ an suv. Options are essentially FX-35, MDX, X5 3.0 or maybe Murano. Love the FX looks but people keep telling me that its small. I have a wife and 2year old son. Is it really that much smaller than its competitors? I just basically need the awd capability (snow/rain; not offroading)and room for kids and all the stuff associated with them. I am trying to purchase an suv w/ good looks, somewhat decent acceleration/handling numbers (0-60 low to mid 7's at most) and won't kill me on my gas bill. My current 2 cars maybe get 30 mpg combined.

Also, can you recommend any dealers and what's a good price for an fx-35 w/ touring package lease nothing down, only first payment (no bank fees, taxes, etc...)

Lastly, are bank fees and disposition fees at end of lease negotiable?

Thanks!

I own an '04 MDX and an '04 FX35. I consider the MDX to be the BEST family vehicle we've ever owned! We want room for 7 on occasion and the MDX delivers in style Yes the FX is really smaller than its competitors. How long do you plan on keeping the car? I use my FX as commuter vehicle; it is really not suitable for a large family of 4 as an everyday car in my opinion. However for 2 adults and 1 young child you should be OK; but it is not a people and cargo hauler.

Also we average 16-17 mpg in town and 22 mpg on the highway in the MDX.
The FX35 has really only been used around town, and averages 17-18 mpg.

Thanks for the advice. How doesthe MDX stack up w/ the FX as far as fun to drive (esp acceleration)? Also is the fx smaller just in cargo space or are we talking back seat as well? I feel like I should buy the MDX but I want the FX. Do you really feel the need for more room in the FX that often?

Thanks for your help.
