Hi, I've been talking to that dealer and got number now. Though they do not have the exact truck I want, I can probably get a Z71 with 2nd row buckets/3rd row seat for the same price as the adequately optioned LS I priced in NW Jersey. I'll let you know how I make out. I just wonder what my dealer's service manager's face will express when I bring in a truck for warranty/recall service (I hope not) that was not purchased there. It ended up around $11K under sticker ($661 under invoice -$5000 rebate) when all is said and done.
Did you by the newspaper ad vehicle?

No, I didn't buy the ad truck, but their ad vehicle options change from time to time; they can do their biggest markdown on whatever they buy a lot of (usually either completely stripped or very loaded). Most times, they will have a sufficient number of ad vehicles, but if you want just a few more or less options, they may not offer the big discount they show in the ad.

Thanks again. They price three for me and all were discounted the same. Basically, they give you the holdback. The add vehicles, they claim, are discounted more because of incentives to them from Chevy. Still, a better deal than at home. Explain the purchase process since MA does not have temp. registration. Also, how was you delivery experience? Also, do you think I have any more haggle room?

Drop me an email. No need for us to clog up this thread with a lot of info on one out-of-state purchase......

GMC Yukon deal by jayboxx

Just got my first GMC product (Previously had mostly Ford/Mercury)

While waiting for the kids to get on a plane to visit their grandparents, I was taking a look through the paper, and saw the $5k rebate offer on the Yukons, so on a whim went to the local dealer.

An hour later, drove out in a 04 Yukon. Sticker was around $35,900, dealer discounted down to $27,800, and with the $5k rebate price was $22,800. Financing through GMC was at 4.7% (for 72 months no less), so no way was I going to turn down the rebate to get 0% interest. I didn't do a trade-in.

So far, had the Yukon for about 2 weeks and love every bit of it. Drives and handles great, and I love the room (Biggest vehicle I had previously was a Mercury Mountaineer).

South Jersey Deal by whitall

Our Mountaineer is out the door now that the lease is over. We are buying this time around. I wanted the Exp. because the seat configuration is great and the kids loved it too. Hubby likes the ride and looks of the Tahoe. He likes the dash much better too and I agree. He pays, he drives, he wins.

Ours is an LS with the SK1 pkg (Ls pref equip.) we got the 17" tires and wheels, trailer equip, 3rd row and locking rear dif. Not the exact equip I wanted, but we shopped partly for color--we got blue, with a pinstripe ($149 dealer add-on)

The total sticker is 41,515. My internet quote was 31,844 after the 5,000 rebate. We hemmed and hawwed thinking maybe we want green. He took off another 500 so we totalled out at 31,344. We don't have GM rebates, but we do have a little money coming from Citibank Driver's Edge program.

The mgr claimed the extra $500 was a coupon he had a limited supply of, but if we took the deal now he would give it to us, no guarantee he'd have any left when/if we come back. He then claimed that part of the original price he quoted already used one coupon, but he'd give us two. I think that was a load of #$%^, but he can move the numbers how he want as long as I feel like I am around invoice before the "real" rebate. I think I was about $100 under not counting my pinstripe which he didn't really charge us for anyhow.

That's our story!! Now I am looking into bug deflectors etc because that hood really curves over and is begging to be stone chipped. Maybe mud flaps too? Sorry I wrote so much!

Well, with many thanks to Wallet, I bought a new Z71. I actually was looking for the vehicle the Whitall bought (LS, 1SK, 17" wheels, flares, 3rd row and side airbags). In nw jersey, the dealer I have done business with before offered me a good deal for nw Jersey (invoice + advertising 1.5% +$50). They all seem to consider advertising as part of the invoice price. Anyway, to make a long story short, I bought at the dealer Wallet suggested. I went or a Z71 with the 2nd row buckets and 3rd row seat. The deal was invoice - holdback. I calculated a savings of $1,800 over my NJ deal if i had price out that vehicle here. My net savings is a little less because of gas to rive up to MA. I pick it up on Saturday. BTW, with incentives such as $5K, $1K Olds loyalty and almost $2,300 GM Card dollars, I got the vehicle that stickers for $44,865 for $30,600.

Don't ask me where I read this (I've been surfing for many hours today doing pricing research/quotes for an Accord), but I saw a very recent release (or a release quoted in a post) that GM was lowering the general rebate on many models, but offering some of that back in rebates tied to financing, kinda like Ford is doing.

The numbers I hear are in the $4,500 range for most SUV but credit customers may expect as much as a $6,000 rebate on a Suburban or Envoy. You can read more here.
