Any ideas where to get a good deal on a 2004 Z71 Tahoe without all the haggling and lies. Any dealer to recommend? Thanks

Replying to: alm (Jul 12, 2004 7:36 pm) Today's ad shows a Z71 with a sticker of 45,010, dealer discount of 7011, rebate of 5000, to get you down to 32,999. This isn't one of those places where you have to be there when the doors open to get vehicle in the ad; when we got our Tahoe last month, they showed 170+ Tahoes just in their own personal inventory. Their ads are not come-ons, but legit sale prices; we've been buying from them based on this for years. I looked all over my area of NJ, and no one came within thousands of the price we got at Quirk (sticker of 39,900, cash price of 28,700), plus they had Tahoes with minimal options, which were hard to find in NJ. |

Hi, I'm shopping for Tahoe LS with 3rd row seat, 17" wheels, wheel flares, side airbags, trailering, 1SK equipment package, cargo package, 6 cd stereo, etc. Vehicle lists for $42,295, dealer offer $37,870 plus $250 internet coupon. That's less than $4,500 off list. They claim it's invoice plus 1.5% advertising plus $50. After reading some of the posts, i do not think this is a good deal. But in northwest NJ, it's the best I've been able to come up with. I can also subtract the $5,000 loyalty, $1,000 Olds loyalty and $2,300 GM dollars. If this is a buyers market, the dealers are not recognizing it in NJ.

Replying to: tauberj (Jul 20, 2004 7:23 pm) As a point of reference since we bought ours up in Boston: a month ago I was offered (by the fleet/PowerBuy managers) Tahoes at $500-700 below invoice at several Boston area dealerships simply by asking for it OVER THE PHONE or internet. And that's before all the rebates. There is NO WAY the pre-rebate price should be OVER invoice. I mentioned Quirk Chevy earlier. Just for giggles, print out their ad and show it to some of the salesmen in NJ, just to see their reactions. Sales managers reactions are even better......
