I nearly got the LS 460 last month but decided to wait until 2009 when I can get a CPO 2007 Ultra for several thousands less than the premium they are charging now. Also, the LS 600h will be out by then. If you plan to keep the car for a while, you may consider buying the 2004 model because you get more options e.g. smart access (which is not available in the 2003 model). Take a look at Lexus of Silver Spring, MD; they had a sizable inventory and they are good people. I will be glad to give you a contact person there. Good luck. |

going to look at LS430s 1st time this week. 2002 looks like right price range for what i want to spend. dealer has three 2002 CPOs listed on their website 1) 31K miles, $31788, Nav, Levinson sound, 2) 56k miles, $28988, Nav, Levinson sound 3) 55k miles, $28488, NO nav, no Levinson so, what questions should I be asking when looking at these? are there specific maintenance or wear items I should try to make sure are already done? what prices should i be shooting for (i know about TMV, i'm looking for real world what people are seeing)? etc. thx in advance for ideas.

Replying to: 4xpy4 (Mar 07, 2007 8:10 am) I bought a 2001 LS430 in DFW area this past weekend here were the specifics: 60K miles, great condition, full service records since new; 60K mile service performed; new F/R brakes; new tires; no navigation; no levinson sound $24700 price -$3500 trade-in +$1792 3yr/36K mile Total Protection Plan 'Deluxe' Extended Warranty (they originally offered this at $2540, I kept asking questions and punching random #s in my calculator and shaking my head and the finance man kept lowering the price) +1250something tax financed at 6.55% (again, finance man originally quoted 7.5%; i said i would probably just wait to do the loan until monday when my credit union opened. ta-da lower rate) |

Been getting close to buying a used LS430.I was thinking that after the 460 where in the dealers a while there would be some good deals on the 02-04 LS430's.Was wondering what others have been paying or finding when they get down to offers. I have seen; 03,with 23k miles 33,500 ask 04,with 29k miles 31,900 ask 02,with 22k miles 28,000 ask Bid on a couple on Ebay but have seen some real shady stuff (no reserve car sold then put up next day by same dealer with different id,shill?)and have some concerns but certainly don't want to pay the Lexus dealer used car price. Anyone else been shopping,buying? thanks

'05 LS430, 53k miles, CPO. All the goodies. Laser cruise, Levinson, door closers, laminated side window glass, 18" Chromes, cooled and heated (incl rear) seats, extended ecru leather trim. New Bridgestone Turanzas. Full service history. Lexus extended 100k/3yr warranty. Price to me $38k plus taxes. The mileage is high, but paint if flawless, and with a certified pre-owned warranty for the next 47k miles - I think its a steal. What am I missing?

Replying to: 95864ls (May 03, 2007 1:49 pm) Two things I would be concerned about; Your comming up on some pricey services (60K)and you will have to go to the dealer so you keep him happy to deal with the CPO covered issues. And once you over 50k they seem to take a big hit in price. JMO but I would rather have a lower mileage 04 that a higher 05. |

I recently purchased an 04' LS 430 silver w/black interior Ultra Luxury at a dealers auction in Bordentown NJ. Cost me $28,700. Car had high mileage ( 78k ). But for a car that may easily go 200k + miles, 78k is nothing to worry about. I got exactly what I was looking for and more. You see.......I already owned a silver with black interior 96 LS 400. And I wanted to step up in luxury by replacing that car with a silver w/black interior LS 430 w/ ultra luxury package. How in the world did I get so lucky, finding my car at an auction? Yeah, there would be many LS 430's there, but that doesnt mean you'll find exactly the car , color and options you want. I know, I know......buying at an auction is a huge risk. But I think it's worth the risk, especially when you find out, the same car you find at someone's used car lot is the same car purchased by that dealer from a dealer only auction. The car hasnt changed, only the cost by the time it gets to a car lot. Originally I was only able to afford an 02'......but going to an auction allowed me to step up to a newer model. And I'm sure glad I did. I didnt know the 04' had a 6 spd trans, and that previous year models had 5 sp trans. I love everything about my car. Mark Levinson system,chrome rims, self closing doors and trunk,rear refrigerator,reclining massaging rear seats, back-up camera, voice command nav system, great MPG, smart key access,folding side mirrors,sport and snow selections, 4 auto power windows,rader/laser cruise,whisper quiet, 4 pass heat/cooled seats,computerized message center,parking sensors,one touch open/close roof, drivers's seat extends out for more leg comfort,cornering headlights,headlight cleaners,exterior illumination, interior styling and creature comforts. All of that for under 29k??? I'll take it.
