Sorry it took so long to respond. The features I have are the leather seats, MyGig with dual DVD screens and backup camera, the basic signature series with no extras, except the red paint. I don't have nav or the hands free. I don't have the swivel seats or the upgraded sound system, etc.

tedebear,

I'm wondering if you'd be willing to look up that Friends price on the model I just purchased... I'm curious if I would have been able to get a better deal... I have the signature series T&C, inferno red and block heater. No additional options.

The reason I ask is because my dealership is one of those "best price in the window" dealerships and I've purchased my last three new vehicles from this same salesman. Well, one week later, they have a big "sale" - which they've never done before - and the same model as mine is on "sale" for about $300 less. I'm seriously thinking about going back to him and making a fuss. Any advice?

I know that you had mentioned in your last reply to me that they may be charging me the $100 to transfer the car to the dealer, but the rules say they can't charge any delivery fees.

Yes, I said that the rules do not mention the word transfer and that you could interpret that part of it however you wish.

I'm not sure if the wording in the rules is there so the dealer cannot add a delivery fee in addition to the one that is already included on the window sticker that we all have to pay, whether it's across the country or across town from the plant where it was made.

If you want to call and ask if a transfer fee can be added to the Friends price you can call the Employee Advantage hotline at (800) 756-2886 during normal business hours.

Here's what I came up with:

MSRP: $32,760
Friends Discount: $3,092
Cash Allowance: $2,500

Net Price: $27,168

First off, let me apologize to everyone for putting my questions about my GC purchase in the T&C forum... I accidentally clicked on the wrong item in the "My Watched Items" link

Took delivery last night of our 2008 GC SXT, Sunburst Orange, only option was the roofrack.

Here's the breakdown:

MSRP=27140 + 150 (Sunburst Orange) + 250 (roofrack) + 770 (delivery) = 28310

PP (Family & Friends price) = $26240
PP Admin Fee = $75
Dealer Processing Fee= $100
MD Sales Tax= $1584.90
MD MVA Fees= $274
Dodge/Chrysler Rebate= -$2500
Dodge/Chrysler Coupon= -$750
___________________________________
TOTAL= $25023.90

I didn't feel like b^%^tching about the $100 dealer processing fee for such a small amount, even though when I called the hotline for the Chrysler Advantage Family & Friends program, they told me that dealers can't charge a processing fee.

Since I got it at the PP price, I got a copy of the dealer invoice. Now I know why both you and I were calculating the PP price wrong. I got approximately the same price that you did - $25,725.

But my invoice has some other items on it:
$25 for Chrysler Owner Loyalty Mail
$14 for 5 additional gallons of gas
$210 for Washington Metro - PPA/EB-PF
$280 for Washington Metro DAA

Edmunds doesn't have these things on their listings when they show invoice price. What in the world are all of these additions??? I live in Baltimore, MD, but the vehicle came from a dealer that is about 2/3 of the way between Baltimore & DC. Do they charge regional prices too? And where the H is my 5 extra gallons of gas that I didn't get? What, were they supposed to give it to me in a gas can or something?

They didn't give you a big red 5 gallon plastic container full of fuel? Go back and demand yours!

Seriously, the extra 5 gallons is a factory fill item. When the vehicle is going down the assembly line the production operator presses a certain button for regular fill or another one that dispenses an extra 5 gallons of gas, depending on the code that pops up on the screen when the vehicle gets to his/her station. There's even another one for diesel fuel.

If your tank wasn't full it might be due to driving it around because of the transfer from another dealer. If you go back and mention it I'm sure the dealer would top it off..

I don't know about all those other codes. You might try a Google search and see what it finds.

Do you mind sharing which dealership you used? We're in the same area and will likely be getting a T&C using DHs supplier discount.

Thanks in advance!

No, our tank was full. But I'm confused because the price includes a full tank of gas (just like every car dealer does) as indicated on the invoice, but then there was the charge for the 5 gallons of gas. So it must really be "full tank of gas for the price of 5 gallons"!!!

Thx, I'll try the googling the other codes.

Unfortunately , the dealer we used is simply a Dodge dealer and not a Dodge/Chrysler dealer, so that wouldn't help you out with a T&C.

But if you still want to know, then let me know and I'll send you a PM.

Send it to me too. I thought Chrysler was making all their dealerships convert to the multiple brand platforms (Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep) and, except for Tator's somewhere on the east coast, I didn't think there were any single brand dealerships left.
