You're right, I was fooled by the name! Official looking web site too!

I'm not sure how I feel about a third party extended warranty. AAA offers them as does my insurance company, GEICO. Consumer's Union had a report of them not too long ago (in the last year?) and (if I remember right) did not have much positive to say about the third part issued warranties.

Let us know what you think when you get your paper work.

Thanks.

Do you have a Town Country on order? by ordered1208

Has anyone ordered a 2008 Chrysler Town Country and still waiting?
I placed a order for one on 01-02-2008. It has been eight weeks and the order is still in D status.
I do have a VIN for it.Chrysler told me it might be 3 or 4 days or 3 or 4 weeks before it could be built.
I also know after it has been built and it leaves Canada, it goes to Jefferson North and sits for a week or so before it ships 30 miles to the dealer.
Just curious if other people are waiting this long.
I ordered it on the last day that you could use the EC numbers.Maybe that has something to do with it if they received alot of orders that day.

Friends Code Pleeeease!!! by snoopy71

I'm new to this board here ... found it while researching vehicles.

Wife & I have twins on the way (in addition to our 3-yr old) so we need to bite the bullet and get a minivan. Thinking of getting a Caravan or a T&C (aren't they the exact same vehicle?), or maybe even a Jeep Cherokee (I think the back seat has enough room for 3 car seats). I now see that the EC program ended in 2008. Money is real tight, so if anyone has a Friends code for 2008, then I would reeeeeealy appreciate it. .... I'll even put you on my Christmas card list!!

Sorry, no friends code for you. But if money is tight, why don't you look at a slightly used DGC or T&C. We just bought a 2007 DGC for $15.2K, with 21, 500 miles on it.

I would stay away from the jeep, IMO, unless you live in the boonies with lots of snow and really, REALLY need the full time 4WD. Costs too much to keep running, and uses more gas than the minivan.

Dodge (at least up through 2007) made a standard length van and the Grand. The Grand is about a foot longer overall and with a slightly longer wheelbase. The T&C is essentially the same as the GC, only better appointed. But, you pay for those bells and whistles. Mechanically, they are the same.

For whatever reason they removed that Mailbox link that used to be in the upper right. You can get to your mailbox options by clicking on My Carspace near the upper left of the screen.

Any moderators know why the Mailbox link was removed?

Exactly...

When I typed that message, we had a slightly different format.. Your directions are correct.. Click on My CarSpace, then look for the mailbox options on the upper right of that page..

Do I know why?

Nope... I was the only Host that noticed it, though...

snoopy, i can get you a friends discount. It will get you a 1% below invoice price with no negotiations, and on top of that, you can get whatever incentives they are throwing at it. But you need to guarantee me that you will use the discount, otherwise it will be a waste of my time and prevent another person from using our limited discounts. FINALLY got our 2008 T&C Sig Series by mmakol

After weeks and weeks of searching for the EXACT vehicle I wanted for my family and at the RIGHT price I had 3 deals on the table.

I drove 3 hours from Boca Raton to Orlando to pick up our 2008 Town & Country Touring Signature Series in Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl.

We got the 25L package with Infotainment system with Dual DVD's and Navigation.

We utilized the Friends and Family code that we got from a GREAT member here and then applied the $3250.00 in rebates, eliminated the $730.00 Dealer Fee and walked out of the dealership grinning from ear to ear. I will post the price break down tomorrow as my wife has the van(or I should say, ENTERTAINMENT CENTER on wheels) at work with all the paperwork inside. MSRP was $34,970

I picked it up Thursday night in Orlando, then drove back to Boca Raton, Then at 9:30am we drove to St. Petersburgh for a competition, then over the Cape Haze to visit with the inlaws, then back home today. My Kids do not want to GET OUT of the van, they absolutely LOVE IT and were telling all their friends about how they have the most incredibly van in the world.

My wife and I were prepard to go bare bone on a vehicle since prices have gone so high on fuel and insurances. We were paying $415.00 a month on a lease for our 2005 T&C Sig Series and wanted to be around $300 - $350 on a lease this time around. After first searching the new vans and seeing their prices with DVD options, we thought it would be absolutely IMPOSSIBLE. This iste gavce me all the info I needed and more to begin the negotiating process.

The T&C is absolutely speactacular so far and we couldnt be happier with its ride and FEATURES.

Find a REPUTABLE dealer that you trust. I drove 3 hours to get my vehicle because I felt my local dealers were not being 100% honest with me on the pricing with the code and rebates.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK before signing any paperwork.......NEVER be afraid to WALK OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP. It is your best bargaining tool.
