The more I think about it the more I agree with you. Apple doesn't let you do anything with that I-Pod and protects themselves well. I'm surprised that a company like the WSJ would not have realized that much. As for the interface display - nothing is going to be as good as an IPod right now. That is why they sell so well even though so many competitors exist. Bought my kids an imitation IPod a year ago for X-mas. It immediately got returned for an IPod. Kids won't have anything except an IPod because of the likability of the interface. If someone is expecting Apple to come in and design an interface as nice as an IPod - you'd add at least a grand or two to the price of the van. Right now MyGIG seems adequate - not fancy, but that may improve in the next years models. Do those who currently have the MyGig find the Navi system easy to use?

It can even read you your emails and text messages. But, alas, they dropped their minivans. However, Ford's proprietary agreement ends in 09 so, other vehicles will offer it. On Ford vehicles it only costs $395 and doesn't have any renewal costs associated with it. All you need is a Bluetooth phone and an MP3 player. Hopefully it will be that inexpensive on other vehicles. Oh and Apple and VW have a similar system that will be introduced soon. I worry about the hard drive in the Migig system, hard drives fail eventually. What's that gonna cost? And will I still be able to use my stereo without it? Personally, I'd rather just have a nice interface with my iPod and forego the other stuff.

Metro PPA/EB-PF fee of $210.00 and Phila. Metro DDA fee of $445.00 all passed on to the dealer through Chrysler. Is this real & did you have to pay anything like it or are they just making up lost profit with a bunch of B S. |

Thats why my invoice price was higher than the one calculated on edmunds. Sounds like it could be legit. Which options and what price did you end up with before taxes/docs? Did you get an actual copy of the invoice? As I mentioned before, when it was all said and done, I was at 32555, then there was tax and titles and a few other random charges. I'll check for more detail when I get home.

My local dealer has a pair of 2007s left. How low might he go on the Limited with MSRP = $38,600 at this point?

Fact is, they make 500-1000 a car even if they sell at invoice - even more depending on factory to dealer incentives and bonuses if they hit numbers. My dealer faxed me the actual invoice, then detailed the out the door number for me line by line. I was able to get the car below invoice because they were a car away from hitting the top factory to dealer bonus level at the end of the month. Everyone was happy. |
