Well, good ones are out there. My 2008 T&C touring signature had absolutely no issues and saved my wife's life in a front end 60 mph wreck. So the safety ratings are no BS.

I do understand your concerns though and I share them as I begin the new car search again. Can I get one with no issues again? sigh.......

I live in Howard County, MD and am seriously considering an 09 T&C Limited. How much negotiating did you have to do on your Touring? Does anyone know if the dealers will still go down even more on the current employee pricing plus all the other rebates? The Limited we're considering is around 34 or 35K, down from 42 or 43K with all the incentives. Still, that's a lot of money.

Right now I have a quote of 24,900 on a Touring with 25L and swivel and go and sirius backseat tv.(which i dont want but is hard to get without)
That was a no negotiation price, I hope to get it down to about 23,500 tomorrow night.
A long shot, but I'm going for it. I think they need the sales.

I paid 26,100 last august for my Touring with Nav, swivel etc. I found a mistake on a dealer site and got them to honor it, but now they don't return my calls for a new one.

Dang, that's way better pricing than I am seeing in the Tulsa area -- lowest anyone has come on a 2009 touring with 25L is about $27,500 -- and that is without Swivel & Go, which I really DON'T want. If I could get below $25,000 I'd probably buy, even with all the uncertainty over Chrysler.

I went out tonight to do some comparisons.

I had never looked at the dodges. So I was a bit unprepared but went in anyway.
I told them what I had on my totaled 2008 T&C and they had a pretty comparable caravan. It didnt have swivel, (which I seem to be the only one in the country who likes it) but it had dual dvd, 17", 4.0, leather.

They seemed genuine and told me I was going to be blown away by the price. I took a look at the van and then they showed me the price......27,900$. I laughed and told them I paid 26,100 for a comparable town and country last august. They could not believe it. Granted the dealership I bought from honored a mistake, but these guys were pretty genuine.

When I revealed that I had a quote(only on the phone) for 24,900 for a somewhat comparable T&C they were adamant that it was a ploy to get me into the dealership. All in all they were good guys and we chatted for a long time about pricing and dealer schemes and whatnot.

So tomorrrow I will call the original 24,900 quoting dealership and talk to the sales manager. I am betting that they will say that vehicle is gone but I should come in and check out the others. If so, I will buy from the dodge guys.

It really hurts that if they are scamming me it looks like I will be paying more for my new 2008/2009 van than I paid for my very nice 2008 T&C signature value.

But it is looking more and more that the pricing you are seeing is the best you can do now.

This blows. But, it will be nice to have 0% financing.

We didn't do a ton of negotiating on our 09 T&C Touring, but we did do some waiting. Chrysler was then (and probably still is) introducing new incentives every month, so we would call or email about a week into the month to two local dealers and check their prices. We did have to forgo the low interest rate offers to get the price down, but that was our preference anyway.

The dealers were empty when we visited and more than happy to talk $$s with us. They were vey open about what the Employee Price was (note - it is lower than the employee price as advertised). They were not willing to get down to the "real" employee price but they were within about $750 of it (and below the "advertised" Employee price)

Good luck to you!

the "real" employee price is always listed on the invoice next to EP. ask to show their invoice to get the true number. now deduct from there the regional incentives and the CF bonus cash and that should be the base line for your price. there are some areas that had a car show, so that extra couple hundred might apply for a further discount. just for a note, real employees can get up to an extra $1000 off specifically on these minivans. you might be able to have the dealership apply this to you but who knows, you'd have to ask. and dont forget that the 0% for 48 months should be the deal breaker for people with A+ credit. think of that as an extra $3k-4k incentive to buy a chrysler/dodge/jeep

Why don't you go to www.fitzmall.com and price both the Dodge and the Chrysler. The prices are right out there in the open, and your 27.9 dealer will see that a comparable vehicle can be had for less.

I had the same experience for my parents though. The dealer most local to us was adamant that nobody could beat 27.5 or so on the car...and then when we did the deal with fitz, was like...sometimes you just can't beat them.

Yeah, pretty much...

BTW--so far, they like the thing. My father apparently got almost 25 mpg on his first tank, and my mother is having fun with the radio and the heated seats.

Personally, I'm sticking with my Honda, but I will say its a step up from the previous gen Dodge vans. I still think the interior quality is cheap though.

This probably is too late of a reply to help you, but we bought a brand new 2008 T&C Touring, with 6 miles on it from a dealer in CT (Hartford area) this week. We paid an OTD price (including 6% tax) of $23,900. This van is loaded with the 25M package, which means, heated front and second row seats, hard disc drive, sat radio for 1 year, 3 zone heat, all leather, you can down load over 10000 songs photos..., rear back up camera, remote start.plus Navigation and UConnect and an auto dim rear view mirrot(great for high beams at night). The kids love the 2 dvd players. 2 movies at the same time or 1 movie and 1 ps2. We got the full life time warrenty and 0% financing for 48 monthes. The sticker price on the window was 35,850, that is almost $12000 off ! The only thing we didn't get was the sun roof, but my husband is tall and the sunroofs don't usually work for us.
Good luck with your purchase.
