Can you tell us why you decided you like the other vans better?

Is it just because of resale value?

How long do you plan to drive the van? How long, historically, have you kept your vehicles?

our last veh. we got it 13 yrs ago and we still have it. we just got caught in a fast paced situation and did not do all the proper research on the t&c. The veh. might turn out to be a great car. the msrp was 33k and we got it for 23k without hagling. Right now we can get out of it and buy a toyota (not a nicely equip), but the longer we wait the lest our t&c might be worth thanks

If you just plain like the Toyota better, then go for it.

If you are worried Chrysler will bankrupt and you won't be able to get warranty service, then go for one of the others.

If you are worried about the resale value of a car you might keep for 13 years.... well, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Remember, the T&C comes with a life time power train warranty. The Toyota's power train warranty is 5 years, 60k miles.

I can tell you this:
We did all the research on the T&C, and all the other vans, and we chose the Chrysler.

Let us know what you decided to do, and how it worked out. (just curious)

In reality the tnc rides very nice and we cannot get that equipment on no other car for that $$$ and we get 5 good years out of it we will be happy. I just dont want to live with buyers remorse and whenever the something goes wrong we will second quess ourself . The should've, could've , would've syndrome thanks again

Yes,each one feels differently about a car they drive.If you plan to keep it for more than 10 years then resale is not an issue.But if it is for 4 or 5 years then it becomes a query.Also the drive and comfort levels are different for different people.
I was stating from experience.I had Dodge caravan, a twin of TC,, and it had no major problems,,but it had so many minor issues,-- small part break,small leaks, etc.Again nothing major but each trip to the dealer cost about 200$.And not to mention that is was with the mechanic for 1 or 2 days.The first 40000 miles or so,,there wont be any problems.After that its a different issue.But if you like it,,you should buy it.
But if you plan to trade it within 3 or 4 years the resale takes a real beating.
Plus Chrysler is in such disarray now,,,i dont know if it`s a safe option to buy one now.B`cos if they file for bankruptcy,,,then they need not honor any warrantys,,,and regular maintenance with parts would be difficult,,,specially if it`s a problem with electronics or computer.
Good luck.

>we just got caught in a fast paced situation

ROTFL

Why did you go to the dealership if not to possibly buy a car? Don't tell me you were "just looking." THEY GOT YOU TO BUY A CAR.

>The veh. might turn out to be a great car.

In EXACTLY the same way, the Toyota "might" have problems or even leave you stranded. OH, THE HORROR! Owning a vehicle might not be a completely pain-free experience! Someday I might even - gasp! - have to CHANGE THE WIPER BLADES!

Sorry for tearing you a new one, but look at what you're doing... You're experiencing buyer's remorse, which every human being has, and you're talking about giving back the vehicle you just got FOR $10,000 UNDER MSRP and taking a $4000 loss on it? The dealership just sits there and giggles, because they'll be able to turn around and sell it for $23k again.

Now, while we were waiting for our GC to come from the factory, we rented a stripped-down version (Stow-N-Go the only option) for our Thanksgiving road trip. 2100 miles later, we're more stoked than ever about getting the vehicle, which may be in today.

Chrysler vs Toyota vs Honda quandary! by nm_socal

Dear Friends. I am also stuck in the same analysis, of picking one over the other. Haven't jumped the gun yet (or bitten the bullet - you pick your metaphor!), but planning on going for it by this weekend (Jan 5th).

My best options for comparable minivans (all 2009; all with leather seats, DVD, navigation, blue-tooth, reverse camera):

Chrysler T&C Touring with package 25L.
* Power-fold 3rd row seat
* Stow'n go 2nd row captain seats
* Two DVD screens ... huge plus, in a family with an 8-year old and a 5-year old
* 20GB (or is it 30GB) hard-drive instead of CD changer

Toyota Sienna XLE with package 4
* Moon-roof
* Power lift-gate

Honday Odyssey EX-L wtih RES and NAV
* Power liftgate

PRICES:
Chrysler ... MSRP $37k ... Best price: $27k
Toyota ... MSRP $34,850 ... Best price: $31k (w/ 2.9% for 5yrs) or $30k (no sp financing)
Honda ... MSRP $37,525 ... Best price: $33,795 (w/ 3.9% for 5yrs)

I am inclining towards Toyota ... but am open to thoughts and suggestions. I intend to keep the car for 6-8 years (or longer) and while resale is not a concern, the longevity and reliability of the car sure is.

My editorial: Historically speaking, Toyota/Honda retain their value better, and are less prone to problems. Notwithstanding the anecdotal observations that oppose this, I, therefore, would support Chrysler for a 4-5 year term, and Toyota/Honda for short- and long-term. Comments?

Lastly, whatever happened to Nissan Quest? Endangered specie???

Thanks.

Your best option is the Toyota sienna xle.It is the best of all the minivans out there.The interior with the wooden trim,leather seats, and the quiet ride is great.I have a Sienna now and i previously had the Dodge caravan which had so many problems.
I test drove the 2008 Caravan and the TC minivans too. The ride was harsh and the road noise was very audible.The interior was too much hard plastic.For $20000+ , I would expect better.Also if reliability,durability and trouble free maintenance is important,,definetely go with the Sienna.You just won`t go wrong .
Also I would consider the long term viability of Chrysler with their bankruptcy status..If you are spending $ 30 k,, make a good reliable trouble free choice with the Sienna.
Good luck.

I agree ... Sienna wins this battle hands down. Which is a shame. Here is a potential buyer (or many, on this forum alone), who walks into your showroom, receives good service, is willing to purchase the higher-end version of your product, even in this economy. They find that it's $4,000 cheaper than their competitor, and yet, they walk away. Really a shame, specially at this time, when the company is hurting like it is. How can one hope for a recovery?
