Seriously... " Did I get a good deal?" If you are happy, you got a good deal...move on. Someone will, no doubt come here and tell you you paid too much. Someone else will tell you you did fine. Trust me, someone, somewhere else no doubt bought the same car you did for less. Just enjoy! Life is short... |

I priced that van at carsdirect.com. Target price from them is $31,194 with the rebates. Your price is $2,450 under that. I wouldn't get too greedy here. You're at almost $9000 under sticker. Good luck finding that kinda discount on any other minivan. I say buy it and drive happy.

isellhondas - I understand and appreciate your comments. I am happy with the price and have been well treated. To everyone else - thank you for your comments. I took my wife down and signed the paperwork this evening on her new and first minivan. She's very happy, although she's not so happy to have to give up her BMW 528. I'm not so happy about giving up my SUV for her minivan, but I am very happy to be inherting her BMW 528 In all honesty, I enjoyed this transaction. I felt the sales manager and the salesperson treated us very professionally and fairly over the two days we dealt with them. I feel we got a very fair price, and even if someone came along and said I paid 1500 too much I'd say, "oh well." I could have gone across town and gotten $1000 less, this I know, but I wasn't about to deal with those people. (They advertise $1000 off your best deal, guaranteed, and yes, they are one of the biggest dealers in the US). So, I'm happy, we're happy, I was just wondering if you all thought I got a really good price. Sounds like I did. I've bought 11 cars now in my lifetime, including 8 in the over 20K category (3 over 30K and 1 over 40K), and I'd rate this the second best transaction in terms of the dealership and the speed of transaction. Once we struck a price over the phone they faxed an app, which I faxed back, 2 hours later we were approved for our financing so no 'spot deal' required. I gave the sales manager my down payment figure, he gave me the monthly payment price which matched what I had calculated. I told him we were coming down that evening with our 1-year old so please have everything printed up so all we have to do is sign, and I didn't want the warranty or protection plan for the van as I was getting both third party. We got there, the salesperson held the door open for us, we signed the paperwork at his desk, no upsale on the warranty or anything, in 10 minutes we were done. We had to wait a few minutes for the van to be pulled up, but it wasn't long, it was clean, gassed up and ready to roll. He answered our questions about features/functions and was very knowledgable. We were there and gone in 30 minutes at the very outside. VERY impressed, and the next time I need a new car, I will start with this dealer. They weren't big (they had maybe 8 town and country vans TOTAL in their inventory) but they were great to work with. Oh, and for the record, my BEST experience was with a BMW dealer on our 528. Did the whole deal over the phone. Was treated like a king when we got there. Got a tour of the whole service center, the whole campus, met the sales manager and general manager. Diet sodas, snacks, the works. When you spend 48K, I guess you should expect it. That car has close to 100K on it, and it still runs/feels brand new (she's a 97). That's another story. |

I still have to ask... Do you REALLY think you could have save another 1000.00 from the sleazy dealer? I mean, 1000.00 is a lot of money. I kinda doubt if that would have been the case. I'll bet there was a lot of fine print and qualifiers. Too much money to be real. I'm sure you did well...enjoy! |

And the other dealer would not have had you in & out in 30 mins with a baby in tow. Even if that $1000 was real, would the hassle and headache been worth it to you? A couple phone calls, 30 mins at the dealer, and you save $9000. If only all transactions were that easy and benefical. I hope you give the dealer all perfect scores on their survey. Sounds like they deserve it. |

Yes, the dealer advertises $1000 off your bet deal, guaranteed. They are the biggest dealer in Ohio and surrounding states. I have no doubt I would have gotten the extra grand, but I wasn't about to be hassled by it. It would have taken hours to get through the process, and frankly I didn't want to give the dealership my money. Thanks all for your comments. You confirmed what I suspected - I got a very fair deal and was well treated. I can't ask for more than that. This dealer restored my faith in the car buying process. |

| Got an '03 T&C eX with leather, traction control, side airbags, Infiniti speakers. Stickered a little over $29,000, paid a little over $26,000. $1,500 rebate is all they had on the eX. There were only three of this model within a 300 mile radius of where we live. Had to go out of state. They brought it halfway. Overall a good experience. | |
| Thanks for posting your buying experience. We are looking at a similar T&C with the AWD, we are either going to get the LXi or the limited. I am curious what features the limited has that made you decide for that over the LXi other than it being their top model. Also any info on the rebate would be helpful. The Chrysler site mentions 4000. 3500 cash back plus 500. bonus cash our delaer is offering the 3500. and something they are calling a trade enhancement worth 2000 for any old trade. At this point they are offering $8,250 off their MSRP. Does anyone have any thought on if the incentives are going to improve after Sept 2 or if the dealers are being offered incentives? | |
|
No idea about Sept. incentives - bit of a roll of the dice isn't it? 2004 T&C pricing is now live on site though: link Steve, Host |
