" Is that a good deal?" What more do you want? Good Grief! |

I have another quick question. When people say the got a car below invoice does it generally mean below invoice including the shipping fee, or below invoice without the shipping fee? Ex. Invoice 20,000. shipping few 600 so it would = 20,600 so would under invoice mean under 20,000 or under 20,600?

Yesterday after two test drives (though no off road) and long and thorough internal/external inspections at two different dealers, I ordered a 2007 silver, six speed Jeep Wrangler X Unlimited 4 door. I believe I got a fair deal, maybe not the best, but my time is worth money too. Anyway, my out the door price, not including sales tax, (as that will vary between states), was $24,649. But that is the "out the door price" and includes all of the options listed below, as well as destination ($660), dealer transfer ($299), dealer advertising ($220), and registration ($85). The options I got, which are included in that price are: - preferred pkg 23S - Freedom 3-pc. hard top - Front & rear mats - engine block heater - anti-spin rear differential - AM/FM 6 Disc radio w/MP3 connector - Sirius Satelite Radio - 17 x 7.5 aluminum wheels - front supplemental side impact air bags - Locking Fuel Cap - Chrome Fuel Filter cover (aftermarket but OEM equipment) Maybe if I'd gone to several dealers and played them off each other I could've saved a few hundred bucks, but for me, the extra time and effort just isn't woth it. My Jeep should arribve in 6-8 weeks. I think I'll be one of the first in my area to own one, as the two dealers I went to each only had one in stock and they were holding them as demos.

Second, would that really be a fuel filter cover, or is it actually a fuel filler cover? I haven't checked invoice but you appear to be a couple of thousand under MSRP, which is a lot better than paying full sticker. Oh, and good choice (IMHO) on the supplemental air bags. Few people choose to spend extra on safety.

You are correct, that it is a non-locking fuel filler (gas cap) cover, though the cap underneath it will lock. After some though, I called the dealer and changed it to satin black from chrome, as I didn't think chrome would look as sharp with the silver paint, and could appear to be an attempt at bling, which is just wrong on a Jeep. The dealer said MSRP for my Jeep was $26,250. which of course doesn't include any of the ancillary fees, so based on that, I'm pleased with my price. |

My wife and I recently attempted to purchase a 2007 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited from about 5 seperate dealers. Most had little information on the differences and similarities between the new models, and they could hardly tell us options and costs. Finally we got some facts and were surprised at how rude dealers were about the price. All but one told us "They won't go for less than sticker" some remarked "Hey, some dealers are marking them above sticker!" DON'T PAY STICKER OR ABOVE!!!!! We bought our 2007 Wrangler Sahara with Sirus radio, floor mats, tow group, and limited slip. We paid 500 over invoice, dealer gave us a copy, we were flexible on time so we ordered the exact one we wanted. MAKE SURE you dont buy from dealers trying to swindle you into paying over sticker. Pretty soon dealer lots will be flooded with Wranglers and all will be dealing. If anyone is interested the dealership we bought from was less than 30 miles from our home in New Mexico.

Replying to: mac24 (Sep 04, 2006 5:21 am) That sounds like a great deal and for sure you should go with that deal. No doubt about that! I am trying to get an invoice or under invoice deal for a 07 Unlimited or Sahara, but most dealership still want to make a buck on the mark up. How did you find the dealer that went under invoice price? And how did you dealt with 36 dealers online? I am tried all these” under invoice” web sites, but they are bogus, as they link to the same dealers and I had to get back to each of them, that I am not interested in the MSRP price. Every tip would be very welcome, Thanks. |
