#1) HOW MUCH WILL THE JGC SRT-8 cost

Hi Hemiboy,

I was in Dallas last weekend and I believe it was Car and Driver's newest issue had a picture of the SRT-8 GC due in late fall of 2005. I spoke to a Jeep dealer in Dallas and he said there will be a "Gas-Gussler" surcharge of approximately $2-3K.
Take a look at the additional price for the 6.1 Hemi available in the Chrysler 300 and that should be some indication of price. What is MDS?
And what did you pay for your GC?
Thanks
Rusty

MDS - multicyliner de-activation. Half the engine shuts off when you are driving sanely. So you get a 20% increase in gas economy. I get roughly the same milage as my 2000 JGC Ltd 4.7V8.

I got it back in early Feb when they were just arriving. They wanted 39,999 with everything except navi & rear DVD - which is EXCACTLY what I wanted. I talked them down to 37,500 and then the 2500$ rebate so I made out ok. Plus I have had a DVD / Garmin Nav installed in the passenger fold-down. They took the mirror out and put a small flat screen in there - it even has touch + voice. I have the Hemi and QuadraDrive II so unlike the srt-8 I can still seriously go off road. I kinda find the srt-8 a bit much - but I am SURE the 6.1 without MDS will have the economy of a Hummer - Mark my words. Theres a reason why we have not seen any info on that ..... goto wk.jeeps.com....

We have had the 05 LTD Hemi for 1000 miles/3 weeks.
Zero problems, very quite and no issues except for a bad windshield wiper blade. Stopped at a Jeep dealer and they promptly replaced the wiper blade.
A superb ride!

The GC has been a little bit of a disappointment in terms of sales right now so I highly doubt the incentives will be less than they are now.

Ordering a vehicle should not affect the price significantly. The dealer having to go get it from someone else will more than offset any "savings" of buying one off the lot. The sales guys are telling you that to get you to buy one now and not change your mind.

If you're looking for something specific, I'd order it. By the way, green sucks

Interest Rates through CFS on the GC LTD/Hemi by jeep3

I got a dealer trade for this truck, there were no black hemis anywhere in my city, in 6 dealerships.

I just completed the deal, this is what I got and what I paid.

The only options I did not get were DVD, 4X4 extra package and the chrome rims. MSRP of $41,970; sale price of $37,497 (a discount of
$4,483) plus $4,500 in rebates/CFS and Bonus dollars for a final price of $32,997. A trade in of $9,500 for my 99 GC LTD.

I wanted a discount of $5,000 off MSRP, but settled for $4,483 and decided to make it up the additional $500 on my trade-in. They offered $8,100 and I got up and said "Thank you for your time, but ____ Jeep dealership offered the same deal for the new car and $9,000 for my trade in."
(Actually two other dealers offered $7,500 and $7,900.) He stammered and said let me get my used car manager to rework the numbers... I said don't bother you are wasting my time, I have to go..
Basically he said what do you want for your trade in and my reply was $10,500. He said there was no way they could do that. We finally agreed upon $9,500 which was $1000 more than what I was willing to take. Initially my number was $8,500, but I had to make up the difference of the additional $500 off MSRP that I was pushing for, but didn't get.

The only thing that has not been finalized is the finance/APR. I must have misread, but I thought if you take the $ 2,500 rebate and the $1000 for CFS you could still do the 0% for 36 months. The dealer said it was either/or, but not both. I have perfect credit and debt to income ratio is ideal, but the lowest rate quoted was 6.99% which I thought the highest I would pay was 4.99% for 48 months. Anyway I have the deal done except for the APR, I have a sale order locking the deal for 72 hours to work out the APR.

Can anyone tell me what rate you paid?
Thanks in advance

Hi Paule,
Could you post/email your APR if you went through CFS? I am having a little difficulty with the rates I was quoted..6.99% for 48 or 60 months.
Thanks
Rusty

Rusty,
I think you have the wrong guy. I haven't bought a vehicle (at least a Jeep) recently so I do not have any rates for you.
It would not surprise me however that they are quoting you in the 6-7% range since they gave you the $1000. They have to make it up somewhere.
If you have the ability to pay cash for the vehicle, you are in the catbird seat. Then you can take the $1000 and pay off the loan in a month or two assuming they don't have a penalty written into the deal.
I might add it seems you are getting a smoking deal with the price your quoting. They must be pretty desperate to give that much off of MSRP and then give the rebates as well.

Hi Paule,
Sorry about that, I thought you recently purchased a GC. I know I have an extremely good
deal, I am not satisfied with the interest rates.
It was my understanding the rebates and the additional $1000 for going through CFS had nothing to do with the rates. I have applied online and have been approved by CFS, just waiting for Monday for the exact rate and then I will confront the dealer with the rate quoted by CFS. I know I am pushing very hard on this deal, but I have never paid more than 5.9% for a car loan.

I also want to add, this site has been so helpful in all the ideas and information, so thanks to the site.

As stated before, I ordered my JGC LTD. from Woody's in Chillicothe, MO. They advertise and deliver on $50 below invoice on any vehicle, including one ordered. Plus they were wonderful folks.

When I ordered, the dealer put in writing they would honor the highest of the rebates -- equal to the $2k in February or whatever came in March. Obviously they had up to $3,500 in March which worked in my favor.

I ordered my JCG (no rear DVD or shiny wheels). MSRP 40,070. Out the door sales price of $34,311 ($2500 +$750 loan rebate -- long story but the best option) plus tax, title and tag of $2,096 for a total of $36,407.

And yep, the Hemi's are getting scarce. And it is a wonderful engine . . . .
