Recently leased a Laredo F package with sunroof. Came to about 9700 below sticker of 32075 with 900 down. Rough estimates. -2000 off to be around or some below invoice. -3000 off for trade. A 1995 Explorer in fair condition with 100400 miles. These two were lumped together at the end at 5275.00 -4000 in rebates 2500.00, 1000.00 and 500.00 900 down included first payment, and the rest of the misc stuff. I looked and drove others and was impressed by this. I do see the Cons in the reviews that have been posted (hard plastic, back seat) but the pro's outweighs the cons. The ride is great and even the V6 enough power for me as I don't tow. I went to other dealers after the initial two and some started alot higher, When told what the others was offering, they then said they could do that. |

Replying to: brian211 (Mar 21, 2005 10:59 am) I narrowed the choice down to the same vehicles as yourself. Ultimately I chose the Jeep (Limited) because of the Hemi engine and large price incentives. I also didn't require 7 seats, so didn't feel the need for a feature I'd never use. I was concerned about the prior poor maintenance history of the Jeep but the inclusion of the Hemi engine on Limited models ultimately swayed my vote. I also liked the Jeep exterior & and interior styling better than the Pathfinder & 4Runner. The Pathfinder & 4Runner are fine vehicles but have faults of there own. If I had to choose between them I'd have chosen the Pathfinder on a price/value basis. I was looking for a less truck-like ride, plenty of power, excellent 4wd and all at the right price. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with 5.7L Hemi was the right choice for me. Ultimately it's a personal decision one over another. |

| Thanks scotsman97. I'm still doing my due dilligence. I know my mechanic makes a good living rebuilding jeep transmissions. I'm curious as to how yours is performing. I think I may wait a bit to see how the new 05 models perform. Its always a new model coming out that makes a decision hard. Waited for the 05 and now hear some good things about the 06s! | |

Does anyone know about the rebates for April? In February it was $1000 from the manufactor plus another $1000 if financed through Chrysler. This month it is $2500 plus $1000. I would like to know if at all possible what April rebates will be. I have a very good deal right now, but they have to order the one I want and the rebates may not apply because the Jeep may not come for 4-6 weeks. Tnanks Rusty |

I talked to two different dealers about the April rebates, no one knows until April 1st. If I order the GC as I want it will be up to 8 weeks, (4-6 usual) before it comes in and if the rebates are less at that time, well you lose. If the rebates are more then you come out ahead. I really can not take that chance. He suggested that I let him locate the truck and do a dealer trade. He said in the long run you will not have as much negotiation room if you order it. If you buy something that has been on the lot for a month or two, the dealer is losing money on interest and manufactor incentives to move the trucks. I am not interested in the DVD package and the additional 4X4 equipment package or chrome rims. It seems that all the black HEMI's in my area come with those additional options. I have a price for the green GC/Hemi final price of $34,600 then less $3,500 for a final price of $31,100. But I don't like the green, so I may be willing to pay slightly more for Black with more options. Any options that are on the Jeep that I do not want I will offer 40% of the dealer cost for that option. This tactic worked on my last 1999 GC limited so I'll try it again. Today I received a promotional mailer from Jeep for an additional $1000 bonus cash,(I have purchased 2 new Jeeps/93 and a 99) off any deal I make from 03/14/05-05/02/05 and all current rebates are valid so that is $4500 off. I gotta by a new Jeep. So if you are a previous Jeep owner, look in the mail. Rusty |

Hi Hemiboy, I was in Dallas last weekend and I believe it was Car and Driver's newest issue had a picture of the SRT-8 GC due in late fall of 2005. I spoke to a Jeep dealer in Dallas and he said there will be a "Gas-Gussler" surcharge of approximately $2-3K. Take a look at the additional price for the 6.1 Hemi available in the Chrysler 300 and that should be some indication of price. What is MDS? And what did you pay for your GC? Thanks Rusty

Replying to: jeep3 (Mar 23, 2005 7:28 pm) I got it back in early Feb when they were just arriving. They wanted 39,999 with everything except navi & rear DVD - which is EXCACTLY what I wanted. I talked them down to 37,500 and then the 2500$ rebate so I made out ok. Plus I have had a DVD / Garmin Nav installed in the passenger fold-down. They took the mirror out and put a small flat screen in there - it even has touch + voice. I have the Hemi and QuadraDrive II so unlike the srt-8 I can still seriously go off road. I kinda find the srt-8 a bit much - but I am SURE the 6.1 without MDS will have the economy of a Hummer - Mark my words. Theres a reason why we have not seen any info on that ..... goto wk.jeeps.com.... |

We have had the 05 LTD Hemi for 1000 miles/3 weeks. Zero problems, very quite and no issues except for a bad windshield wiper blade. Stopped at a Jeep dealer and they promptly replaced the wiper blade. A superb ride! |

Replying to: jeep3 (Mar 23, 2005 5:56 pm) Ordering a vehicle should not affect the price significantly. The dealer having to go get it from someone else will more than offset any "savings" of buying one off the lot. The sales guys are telling you that to get you to buy one now and not change your mind. If you're looking for something specific, I'd order it. By the way, green sucks
