| Anyone know the current money factor and residual value for 2006 XC90 V8 AWD in MI. Drove the 2.5 and felt it was significantly underpowered. Thanks. | |

Have talked with a dealer in San Jose who has offered a base white 2.5T, FWD at $31,688 (newspaper ad, no haggling yet on my part). Is this a good deal given the other posts about $6-7k discounts? Should I be able to get closer to $30k? Might the discount be lower here due to the base model? I'm fine with the base model, but need help figuring out if some of the other options are worth the extra dollars? It seems the prices jump rapidly to $35-$37k by adding premium, versatility, metallic paint. Hard for me to justify when the base car is so nice. AWD is a consideration, but again unsure of the cost/benefit trade for my needs (occasional trip into snow, previous good luck w/FWD and chains). If I did opt for base 2.5T as above w/AWD, what should I pay in the SF bay area? Thanks for the help.

I have recently gotten an internet quote from a local dealer in NC for a White 2006 Volvo XC90 2.5 AWD, Premium Package for $36,100. This vehicle is in stock or I can order it. Is this a good price? I have been researching on different car sites and it seems to be. I am not very good at this negotiating thing and tend to be intimidated. Can someone please help me??

Hello! My husband and I are considering buying a new 2005 or 2006 Volvo XC90 and have heard lots of negatives regarding the reliabilty and problems with it, can anyone give their insight or experiences (positive or negative appreciate). We really must have a dependable vehicle it is the whole reason we are shopping for a new vehicle. Please help, we're making a decision within teh next 2 weeks. We're between an XC90 and the Lexus GX. But really like the third row in the XC90. Thanks!!

Replying to: kiiwii (Feb 25, 2006 6:58 pm) I should let you know that once the warranty is up, I tend to do my own maintenance except for major engine or A/C work, so my perspective may be a little skewed. I'm not sure how well that will work with the XC90 as it's much more complex than my '82 or '87. But, I'll still get the manuals so I understand the systems if I do need to ask for help. Best of luck in your decision. If you cannot overcome your concerns, it may not be the right car for you. Buying a Volvo is a Zen thing -- you either bond with the brand, or you don't. |
