I had my MiniConvert.S transported from Scottsdale,Az to Chicago this past spring by rail, with door to door service. Unfortunately the rail service is no longer available. My experience was delightful with no problems.
At the time I shipped the car the cost was $659.00. Now to transport the car back to Az. by truck carrier the cost will be upwards of $850.00. Any suggestions?

In one of your messages, it said you lived in Poughkeepsie....that's where I live and I haven't been able to get into the mini website to locate the closest dealer. Where did you purchase yours? How was the experience? I want the mini cooper S convertible... Should I expect to pay MSRP, under, or over. How long should I expect to wait if I am ordering it custom?

Thanks for your time!

Has anyone bought the aero kit? It's listed for $1250 and the dealer is asking for another 1250 for installation. So total of 2500 to install the aero kit for mini. Did anyone get this?

Just got a new 2005 MINI! by bv73ms3

hi all,

We took delivery of a new 2005 Mini Cooper, red/white roof, auto trans with prem, sport and cold weather packages with bonnet stripes and exhaust tip. MSRP-32,000. We ordered it about 2 months ago and live in Chicago IL. Our monthly payment is $303 with only $450 out of pocket on delivery for at 39 month lease with 36K miles. Tax which is paid up front in Illinois on the entire car was rolled into the lease. This is the best deal anywhere because we got about $1200 BELOW MSRP. The lease was through Lease by Tel which used US Bank for the financing. If you anyone is interested in Lease by Tel for ANY CAR not only the MINI let me know so I can refer you. I have leased 5 other cars before and this was the best lease process I have gone through with everything done through phone/email until we picked up our car in person. I am very happy with the whole experience. Except maybe I should have waited a bit and ordered a 2006. Oh well...

Please tell me the MSRP of 32000 is a typo. Even a MCSC with the options you listed would be less that that. Did you mean 22,000 perhaps?

oops...yup that's a typo- MSRP is 22,000. Also I looked at the contract again and re-calculated my savings to be $1750 ($1000 below MSRP and $695 acquisition fee waived + $50 since gas tank was only 1/2 full). I'm really happy with Lease by Tel and will use them again when my dad in Las Vegas gets the new Passat. They can get you any car at a great price where ever you live in the US!

Yes please! Currently lowest quote is $550 p/month with $500 down for a mscs w/4 packages! Also, I have gotten various delivery dates from end of Sept. up to as late as mid Nov. for the 2006s. Is this just a dealer tactic or can this be true?

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, just read the post. Nearest dealer to Poughkeepsie is either Westchester BMW/Mini or Prestige Mini ( http://www.prestigemini.com ) in Ramsey, N.J off 17 (where I bought mine from) about 50 miles from Potown. Buying experience was excellent , I dealt with the sales manager himself. Expect to pay MSRP (maybe they'll throw in some floor mats & bonnet stripes) but don't be afraid to ask for under MSRP. If you order it will take approx 8 to 10 weeks I believe is what he told me (been contemplating upgrading to an "S"). I can go a little more into detail thru my e-mail rather than over this site so e-mail me with any questions, check my profile for e-mail address.
