I purchased a 2008 element ex awd win no options including floor mats which i later purchased for 132, 20,350 for element. 1.9% interest for 48months. I took an extra $2,200 out to pay off a 2005 honda element ex awd. The 2005 I purchased for $392 a month for five years at 1.9% with no money down. It had floor mats and the cargo cover with it though. Both with automatic transmissions but 08 has a five speed auto vs a 4 speed auto and traction control. They should've have made a completely new one but they have pushed it back between 09 and 11. I talk to someone Honda ( i live in Ohio where they build it) and he said they would do minor changes for 09. I have talked to many people who work for honda that don't know very much about honda or their products. They dont know horsepower, redesign dates, or even what the honda prelude is. U should only pay $100 or less above invoice. Honda wants to get rid of these. They get kick backs.

Dear Pepsicolacat,
We are looking at the Honda EX AWD AT here in Denver....and the best price quote we have gotten so far is $22,325 (no extras on the vehicle,,,,and no floor mats etc....added)... You got yours in January, 2008 for $20,350....and here it is almost 4 months later (closer to the 09's coming out) and that's what they are demanding in Denver...
What dealership in Ohio did you deal with? It would be worth going back there!!!
Tkx for your info....

Seems I've read on the Pilot and other forums that there was a bad winter around the Denver area, and 4wd suv's sold well. If thats the case and stocks are manageable in the area the dealers may not have to part with most of their incentives.

Good luck

Anyone have any info on lease prices for the SC's? Money factor, residuals? I didn't see a section on lease prices on the Element. Thanks.

Price paid today for EX 4WD in Cincinnati by nicmart

I first got a price from the Costco-connected dealer in Indianapolis, where I live. It was a good price, but at crunch time they denied that they had made the verbal offer, and the price went up by about $500. As I always do, I called about 15 dealers locally and in surrounding states, and found the best deal at Coleraine Jeff Wyler Honda in Cincinnati. For a 2008 Element EX 4WD automatic with no options my out-the-door price was $22,347. That includes 7% Indiana sales tax, $250 document fee, and $25.50 title fee. I also bought the 8 yr/120,000 mi (0 ded) Honda Care warranty for $990 plus tax. Also took 0.9% 36-months financing.

The Wyler price was about $650 better than the Costco price in Indianapolis, and better than any other dealer I talked to in Louisville, Indianapolis, and various places in Indiana. The extended warranty matched the Saccucci Honda Internet price. I tend to hold car dealers in contempt, but the salesman was polite and helpful (maybe because he's a newbie), as was the rest of the staff.

When buying a car I always call a lot of dealers and then dicker with them again and again until all but one fall out of the contest. It is simple attrition. I also make sure that the dealer I choose sends me the out-the-door price by email so that I have some solid evidence when I arrive to pay. (Even at Wyler there was a $75 discrepancy in their favor, which they quickly erased because of the email.) I also get the VIN before I go. None of this guarantees that a dealer won't try to dink you when you arrive, but it gives you a little edge. I never negotiate at the dealer, where they gain a major moral advantage: always on the phone. It's easier to blow away their smoke on the phone.

A reporter would like to talk to consumers who are in the market for (or have recently purchased) a Honda as a result of high gas prices. Please respond to jwahledmunds.com with your daytime contact information, as well as your current vehicle and the Honda you have purchased or are considering no later than Tuesday, June 10th.

Well this weekend, I will finally pulled the string and will finally really buy this car.

I plan to purchase an EX AWD auto. the dealers (Fife Honda) has quoted 22,000.
I have not sat down to start the haggle process but will be looking at a couple other dealers in my area and Seattle. Anyone with a great deal here in Washington please let me know. I want to drive to Oregon in my new vehicle by the 4th of July.

much thanks to all
