It's a good price. My son recently bought an Outback Sport SE (gray-on-gray), for between $18K and $19K, but his was an automatic.

You'll love the car.

Just to clarify: the Outback Sport is based off the Impreza, right? In contrast, all other Outbacks are based on the Legacy.

Correct. The SE model is a good deal, as you get a number of upgrades for very little money. In fact, our dealer won't even order the non-SE models, to put on the lot, because the SE represents so much extra value.

Anyone know what the Outback wagon model '6DA' is?

There are 2 advertised in the local paper at $21,995

I'm wondering what kind of equipment might be included without having to call the dealer.

MSRP/Actual price gap, Texas by vvadym

I am shopping for 06 Outback XT Turbo in Houston, Texas. Edmunds gives MSRP of about 32.5K for the trim I want. The first look at 3 dealers in my area give the "MSRP" price of about 33.5-35.5K. Are those dealers "outrages" in their quotes?

Thought I should reply to this and others regarding good deals on remaining 2005 models, even though the posts are about a month old.

One big drawback to the 2005 models as opposed to the 2006 is that they faired marginally on the IIHS side-impact crash test. However, the side structure was reinforced for the 2006 model year to correct the problem. Another (cosmetic) difference I see is that the 2006 2.5i models have much nicer looking wheels - it's a cleaner 7 flat-spoked design instead of 5 curvy spokes.

Subaru.com lists MSRP as $32,820 for the Limited with automatic and no additional options. It wouldn't take much to add a few hundred more.

Never mind MSRP, see what they'll sell it for.

Hi,

I got an 06 xt ltd msrp was $33k+ and I got it for $28,500 including a $1,500 rebate. You should be able to get into holdback at this stage.

Not sure about flat versus curvy, but 05 2.5i's had 16" wheels. 2006 have seven spoke 17" wheels. 2006 H6's and turbos have five spoke 17" wheels.
