I am shopping for 06 Outback XT Turbo in Houston, Texas. Edmunds gives MSRP of about 32.5K for the trim I want. The first look at 3 dealers in my area give the "MSRP" price of about 33.5-35.5K. Replying to: maxheadroom (Feb 06, 2006 10:53 am) Thought I should reply to this and others regarding good deals on remaining 2005 models, even though the posts are about a month old.   One big drawback to the 2005 models as opposed to the 2006 is that they faired marginally on the IIHS side-impact crash test. However, the side structure was reinforced for the 2006 model year to correct the problem. Another (cosmetic) difference I see is that the 2006 2.5i models have much nicer looking wheels - it's a cleaner 7 flat-spoked design instead of 5 curvy spokes. Not sure about flat versus curvy, but 05 2.5i's had 16" wheels. 2006 have seven spoke 17" wheels. 2006 H6's and turbos have five spoke 17" wheels.
