Bought mine. Got two quotes, one for invoice (and pick my options at invoice - any car), one for $250 less - generally same terms. Very few options - NY emissions, auto-dim mirror, trunk tray, some cargo nets... No roof racks, all weather mats, armrest extenders... Got the first guy to give me a price on 4 mounted snows - came in $100 less than Tire Rack (delivered) for identical choices - to close some of the gap. Wanted to do business with that dealer (because of service experiences with the other one). Makes it look like $100 under invoice to me. $25749 + the tires/wheels Probably could have done a bit better, but acceptable. Kingston (my last buy)/Rhinebeck (this buy) NY area, where AWD is popular. Both sales experiences well handled. Delivery in a week (I can't get back before that). Tim |

Good for you for looking at the big picture. In the long run you'll be happier, vs. having saved less than 1% and giving your business to a dealership you didn't like. Congrats. -juice

from my post 495 (which, sorry, was in the wrong forum, but some Legacy/Outback forums are combined, some are not)... After choosing service reputation over price in our buy, my wife took our current Subaru (96 Legacy LSi) in for its final service at the "wrong" dealer. They tried to do an induction service, which was just done 12K miles ago when we were having trouble, and a couple of other things that had been done as part of a long service saga. Service people said, "well, it's an every 20K interval, 12K is close enough..." (more, blah, blah, blah) She saved over $100 by calling them on the duplications (what a woman!). I think we just closed the gap between the two price offers. It just reinforces the decision that price is not all. Tim |

Replying to: eastcoaster (Apr 01, 2005 10:20 am) Hoping this will be the perfect family awd vehicle for the NH area" Almost the exact price (including doc fee) as the best quote I've been offered here in CT on a 2.5i, automatic, with autodim/compasss mirror only option.
