Sounds like a great excuse for a week vacation. Find a dealer in OR or WA with one you want (or where ever), work out the deal from home, drive to pick it up. Probably 1200 miles one way - that is what, about 20 hours of driving? Two leisurely days through beautiful country. About $250 in fuel round-trip - Lodging/meals extra depending on how you work it out.

I like taking trips, though.

just got a good deal on a 2.5 touring, manual, starter/block heater for CDN 34K,,, difficult to get better deals in canada because of the monopoly of dealers in the west and limited subaru dealers. the US import method could be better deal but from my own experience not ideal.
cheers,

Getting a 2.5I Lmtd for snow country. Any deals on rims? Where to look? Subaru brochure says 17/7.0 inch for 225/55 tires.

Try Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct. Look for close-out specials, often you'll find bargains.

The OE rims are fine, they're just costly.

I am looking to buy a 2007 Subaru Legacy Outback 2.5i Wagon. The dealer quoted me a sale price of $22,694. This price include $750 cash back to consumer. The total price including TTL and doc fee is $23,842.82. The MSRP of the car is $25,403. Am I getting a good deal? Can I push for a better deal? I would appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Would need more information such as state (regarding tax), transmission type, any optional accessories. My gut feeling is that you should not pay more than $23K out the door for it.

The car has an automatic transmission, state tax is 3%, tag is $74, doc fee is $399. The only optional accessories is the mirror with compass. The $750 cash rebate is already included in the price of the car. Any advice is much appreciated.

So, that is looking like $400 under invoice at the price offered. That would be a good price for Alaska, but I still think I would shoot for closer to $1000 under (so, knock off another $600 before TTL). If you cannot get it for that then nothing lost and nothing gained.

It is getting close to year end, so I would think dealers to be slightly more willing to deal. Is this a local dealership? If you will be doing maintenance business there, that should also be more incentive for them.
