Replying to: michael2595 (Nov 29, 2006 2:05 pm) If you are set on an all-season tire, then the Tripletred is a good tire for rain/ice/snow (plus it has a tremendous treadwear warranty of 80,000 miles). The down side is that you loose some fuel economy due to the agressive tread pattern. I estimate about 5-10% decrease.   Although the investment is greater up front, replacing the tires with a summer or dry/wet biased all-season tire and getting an additional set of mounted winter tires would extend the life of both sets and provide for improved winter handling (assuming your son plans to keep the car long enough to use both sets significantly). Replying to: xwesx (Nov 29, 2006 3:39 pm) nokiantyres.com.... go out to their site and check the "wr' series..they are hard to find but they are the only all-season tire marked "severe service" ....They will probably cost about $600 for 4 but they are EXCELLENT tires...you only get what you pay for.... I have the Subaru guaranteed trade in on my '05 2.5i wagon and want to get an '07 Silver Outback LTD wagon but can't find one anywhere in the southwest. I'm in New Mexico. Have until Jan 2nd.
