After the accident-caused demise of my 1989 Mazda 929 (188,300 miles), I've decided it's time for a Subaru. I previously acquired a 2004 Forester for my daughter when she graduated from college, and she has been very happy with it, first in PA and now in AZ. I used Edmunds to request quotes from several dealers, but only one responded with actual pricing-Irvine Subaru: 2.5i with A/T Silver/Grey XM Satellite Radio Kit Subwoofer/Amplifier Auto-Dimming Mirror/Compass w/Homelink Center Armrest Extension Hood Protector Security Shock Sensor All Weather Floor Mats CA Emissions $24,775 before TTL,less $750 rebate, plus $275 tint on 7 windows [over $1300 below Edmunds TMV] I also want to thank Juice and Bob for their extensive support of the Subaru Forums. I've read literally thousands of entries over the years, and am now looking forward to enjoying my first Subie! |

In final stages of purchasing car. Received quote for Outback 2006 XT Ltd Wagon with Navigation for $28,902 because part of dealer holdback is being surrendered because the car is still on the lot. Took me forever but found a 2006 Outback Ltd. Wagon if you can believe it found only one in Tri-state at this time and can be had for $25,350. Please can anyone tell me if these are great quotes as I believe that they are and if someone can tell me which car represents a better price value. I intend to keep the car for a long time and have driven both and the XT certainly has a much more get up and go and do realize that gas mileage would be sacrificed but oh the power!!! I hope to close one of these deals by tomorrow 10/29/06 and could use some help.

Replying to: riacono (Oct 28, 2006 2:44 pm) The '07 models do have a few upgrades that I would consider worthwhile, but whether those are in the running depend greatly on your willingness o haggle over a price! Good luck and let us know what you decide! |

I want a 07 OB 2.5i Limited. Right now there is only $750 cashback on the 07 one. Should I expect higher cashback in the coming holiday season? Will the price be more negotiable at that time? Any inputs are welcome!

Pulled the trigger this weekend after searching around for a while. Got the Diamond Gray with the charcoal leather interior. Came with the Homelink mirror. What a fun car to drive! Paid $24,650 after rebates and incentives. I got it at Carr Subaru in the Portland, Oregon area. I was pleased with the internet purchase process: it went relatively painlessly including the trade-in. One question, though: I hooked up my iPod via the connector in the armrest and it played fine. However, I was under the impression that I would be able to control the iPod via the buttons on the dash stereo (i.e skip songs, etc.) Haven't figured that out yet. Any suggestions?
